Sowmya S Sundaram
About Me
I am a researcher working predominantly in the fields of applying deep learning for medicine, natural language understanding, fairness in AI and knowledge representation and reasoning.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at L3S Research, Hannover, Germany. Previously, I was a research engineer at Saama Technologies, Chennai. Before that, I was an applied scientist intern at Amazon, Bengaluru, India. Recently, I obtained my masters and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, India. I had my thesis defence on April 23, 2020.
I was initially mentored by Dr. Deepak Khemani, Professor, IIT-Madras followed by Dr. Deepak Padmanabhan, Adjunct Faculty IIT-Madras and Lecturer at Queen's University, Belfast. Now I work with Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl at L3S Research Center, Hannover.
