I am a researcher working predominantly in the fields of applying deep learning for medicine, natural language understanding, fairness in AI and knowledge representation and reasoning.
As a research scientist, I have accumulated over a decade of experience specializing in the practical application of artificial intelligence algorithms, machine learning methodologies, and natural language processing techniques. I have successfully addressed complex challenges, including resolving math word problems, analyzing medical records for biomarkers associated with cochlear implants and dental implants, modeling genomic data, and optimizing metadata design for scientific artifacts. My academic contributions are reflected in presentations at reputable conferences such as AAAI, ECAI, ECML-PKDD, ESWC, EDBT, and more. I excel in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams and have gained global exposure through work experiences in India, Germany, and the United States.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford School of Medicine. Prior to that, I was a post-doctoral scholar at L3S Research, Hannover, Germany. Previously, I was a research engineer at Saama Technologies, Chennai. Before that, I was an applied scientist intern at Amazon, Bengaluru, India. I obtained my masters and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, India. I had my thesis defence on April 23, 2020.
I was initially mentored by Dr. Deepak Khemani, Professor, IIT-Madras followed by Dr. Deepak Padmanabhan, Adjunct Faculty IIT-Madras and Lecturer at Queen's University, Belfast. Then, I worked with Dr. Wolfgang Nejdl at L3S Research Center, Hannover. Currently I work with Dr. Mark Musen at Stanford.
