Macroeconomics Network in the Southwest

The Macroeconomics Network in the Southwest Workshop is a leading academic workshop in macroeconomics for  the  universities of the Southwest (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton,  and Surrey).  Its purpose is to create research ties, foster research collaborations and exchange feedback on cutting edge macroeconomic research.   

The 4th edition of the Workshop  is co-organized by Nikos Kokonas (University of Bath), Anastasios Karantounias (University of Surrey) and Arpad Abraham (University of Bristol). Many thanks to the Department of Economics at the University of Bath, the School of Economics at the University of  Surrey, and the School of Economics at the University of Bristol for co-sponsoring the event. 

The workshop will take place on November 3rd at the University of Bath. It will focus on a variety of topics, such as:

• Optimal fiscal and macroprudential policy

• Firm dynamics and reallocation 

• Price setting and inflation dynamics 

The keynote speaker is  José Víctor Ríos Rull from the University of Pennsylvania.
