BREAKOUT INTO FUN!

Come join the fun and solve the clues to unlock the box and get your treasure. You will work in groups to solve puzzles to get the codes to unlock a treasure box.

CAN SCIENCE BE SLIMEY?

Come have fun as we learn about polymer science. We will have a slimey time as we examine how many small molecules can be linked together to make a "big mess"!

LIGHT-UP PAPER CIRCUIT JEWELRY

This jewelry will light up your day! Create a piece of shining electronic jewelry that you can decorate and keep. You will learn some basic circuitry in the process.

MAKING BRISTEL BOTS & CATAPULTS!

Participants will make their own miniature motorized robot out of a toothbrush and other readily available materials! Build it, turn it on and watch it zoom! Next, build your own miniature catapult and start launching! The Bristle Bot & catapult will be yours to take home!

THE SCIENCE & NATURE OF BUBBLES

Are you ready for some good, clean fun??!!! Participants will use soapy water to demonstrate how bubbles naturally form in the pattern of the shortest distance between points. This analogy can be used to find answers to complicated networking problems such as "The traveling salesman."

A VISIT WITH THE STARRY MESSENGER

Participants meet Galileo who introduces them to the rudimentary ideas of the optics behind the Galilean telescope. Participants then make a Galilean telescope.

LASER ENGRAVING AND 3D PRINTING

Participants will use a laser engraver and 3D printer to create cool projects.

HOW HIGH'D IT GO?

You build the rocket, we’ll make it fly! Up, up, yours goes, but just how high? Come and find out! Participants will build a measuring device to track their rocket's flight and calculate how high it flies. The rocket and altimeter are yours to keep!

YOU ARE THE DESIGNER! WITH CNC MACHINING

You will create code to run a machine that will make your very own unique design!

"SCRATCH" AND SHARE

You will create a game on the computer and be able to share with your family and friends using a fun program called Scratch. You will meet a Sprite who is a cat that can be programmed to walk, run, tumble or catch some of those apples before they hit the ground! Space is limited to 15 students so sprint to the sign-ups!!!

LET'S MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC THROUGH CODE!

Ever think you could make music from a calculator? We will create a note and then a series of notes together to create songs that we know and love!

CUTE BUNNIES AND DELICIOUS M&MS

How do bunnies and M&M's connect to mathematics?! Come to this session and learn about exponential modeling with these adorable animals and delicious candies!

SEE IT, MAKE IT, TAKE IT!

Have fun making marshmallow shooters, controlling little blue robots, playing a water piano or making a light up greeting card to give to your favorite person. These are some of the activities you can do in this workshop.

CALLING ALL SPICE GIRLS!

Ever wondered why people use spices? Is it just to make food taste good or is there another reason? Come and explore how a simple organism known as Tetrahymena reacts to different spices and see if you can figure out which ones they "like"!

OH MY! THAT'S DNA?!

Ever wanted to extract your DNA and show your friends? In this workshop, you will take your own DNA from your mouth and create a beautiful necklace that will make your DNA last forever. You'll be leaving this session with a lot of knowledge about DNA, a tattoo and your very own DNA necklace!

DELICIOUS PHASE CHANGES!

Do you want to explore phase changes and end up with a delicious treat?! Come join us while we investigate phase changes as we make ice cream.

USE DNA FINGERPRINTS TO SOLVE MYSTERIES

Solve mysteries involving wildlife, violence, illness, and family relationships using DNA fingerprinting. Get hands-on and create a colorful "DNA" fingerprint using real gel electrophoresis equipment.

FLIP BOTS

Build a cool LED Light that turns on/off when turned upside down. Learn how to strip wires and create a mini-circuit.

CUE ROBOT AND SKETCH KIT

Practice coding and make your Cue Avatar draw a geometric shape, pattern or your name. Simple block coding is used but can be converted to JavaScript.

COMMUNICATING WITH LIGHT

Come on in and explore how people use light waves to send information through space! Figure out how to make a laser beam "talk", learn about optical switches and investigate how to combine and then separate different songs from each other.
