This year we will serve students K-8 at Bester Elementary and E. Russell Hicks Middle School, and will accept students that return their completed registration packet. Opportunities during South End 21 are provided to enhance student’s academic success through learning that connects to their current classroom curriculum. In addition, students will have the opportunity to choose enrichment groups (i.e. coding, singing, dance, art, etc.) to supplement their learning goals, all while providing a safe learning environment. The 2020-2021 virtual learning session will begin September 8th and continue through December 22nd, at which time we will re-evaluate the learning platform, using COVID-19 restrictions to determine whether the program remains virtual. Virtual programming will take place Monday-Friday 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

  • September 8th: First day of South End 21 After School Program

How does this work?

Your student will log in with us on Google Classroom and Google Meet. For the first hour of our program your student will attend an enrichment hour. This hour is something fun like, hip hop dancing, yoga, coding, glee club, career club, art or Spanish. After this hour your student will move to a new virtual room where they will receive academic support. This includes learning new skills with certified teachers, homework mentoring and time for peer interaction. The program will also include Family Fun Days once a month! This day will allow for the entire family to participate in an activity or virtual party put together by South End 21. Materials will be distributed to students as needed for academic and enrichment classes.
