This is the official website for the South Bay Day of Protest (SBDP) happening on February 20th
The South Bay Day of Protest is a day for all high schools in the South Bay to take action against ICE. On this day, we will be having several school walkouts and protests happening on the same day. Combining our efforts will be more likely to make real change, and by participating YOU are already helping create a better future.
How does this work?
On Feburary 20th, at 12pm, all of the schools involved will walkout of school at the same time and go protest. Each school has their own Protest Route which you can find at the top of the page. At the end of the walkout, students will be encouraged to buy lunch from a local business.
Whether you decide to participate in your school's walkout or not, we ask that you show your support for Immigrant Rights by wearing blue on the day of the walkout. If you are deciding to walkout, make sure to wear walking shoes and clothes that you are okay getting sweaty in. It is predicted to be a high of 70 degrees, so dress accordingly.
We highly recommend that everyone carry more than one form of identification on them (Drivers License, State ID, Copy of Birth Certificate, Student ID, etc). If you would like to make a sign, we encourage you to do so, but there will also be pre-made signs to use as well. After the Protest is over, students will be encouraged to grab lunch at a local business, if you would like to participate please bring cash! Noisemakers are also encouraged!
Here are some chants you might hear at the protest!
No Borders, No Nations; Stop Deportation!
Say it loud, Say it clear, We do not have any fear!
Say it once, say it twice, we will not put up with ICE!
Power to the people! No one is illegal!
We want justice, we want peace, get ICE off our streets!
From DC to Redondo Beach, Donald Trump needs to be impeached!
