“A Proud Heritage—Finding Your African American Roots”

For African Americans, finding ancestors and exploring your heritage can be challenging, in part because so few records have been digitalized. This is changing rapidly.

In celebration of Black History Month, the Tacoma Family History Center is hosting a FREE genealogy workshop designed specifically for people with African American ancestry. On February 5th, attendees will learn about the explosion in FREE genealogy research tools that can be used from home to find family members and ancestors.

Celebrate Black History Month by learning how to piece the stories of your ancestors together and bring them to life. Honor your ancestors by finding and remembering their names.

This event is designed especially for individuals with African American ancestry, but anyone interested in learning more about family history research is welcome to attend. Join us in discovering your roots on February 5, 2022 from 9AM to 2PM at 1102 S. Pearl St. in Tacoma. Registration information is available at www.tacomaaafhe.com.
