This Privacy Policy describes how Sound Meter: Noise & dB AI ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using Sound Meter, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Sound Meter requires microphone access to measure sound levels (decibels). Audio data is processed entirely on your device in real time. We do not record, store, transmit, or share any audio data. No audio ever leaves your device.
The dB Camera feature uses your device camera to overlay decibel readings on a live preview. Camera data is processed locally on your device. Photos are only saved or shared when you explicitly choose to do so. We do not access, store, or transmit camera data.
The Noise Map feature may request location access to display environmental noise data on a map. Location data is used only within the app to provide map functionality. We do not collect, store, or share your precise location with any third party.
Sound level measurements, history records, sleep monitoring data, and hearing health test results are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is never transmitted to external servers.
If you subscribe to Sound Meter Premium, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Subscription status is verified through the respective platform.
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve relevant ads. We do not use any analytics or tracking services. We do not collect crash reports, usage statistics, or behavioral data.
All personal data (measurements, history, preferences, sleep reports) is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive or store user data. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
Sound Meter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times. You can delete your measurement history, sleep data, and preferences directly within the app’s settings. You can revoke microphone, camera, and location permissions at any time through your device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
