Hello thanks for taking time out to review my inquiry with regards to my concern with Windows 10 ver 1903 deployment. My sound blaster Audigy FX sound card worked excellent up until your deployment of Windows 10 version 1903. The prior Windows 10 version 1809 my sound card had absolutely no issues what so ever. Now I did my due diligence and began to update my sound cards drivers, uninstall the the sound card, uninstall the drivers, perform a thorough clean sweep of any left over driver files in safe mode, reinstall the sound card, re-install the drivers, update to the latest Creative drivers but to no avail. My sound blaster Audigy FX is not broken because it is showing in my pc's device manager clearly plus it shows the sound control panel my sound card shows as disabled in all the audio connection. Please FIX this issue you break you repair it Thank You

If issue still persists, contact Sound Blaster Audigy FX support for better assistance.

Else, if it is less than 10 days for your upgrade to V1903, you can roll back to V1809. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > click Go back to previous version.

MOST of the driver issues are on the hardware manufacture not Microsoft. They way I understand it Microsoft will work with any hardware manufacturer to get their drivers updated to work with new Windows 10 releases. If Creative has chosen to NOT do that it is NOT Microsoft's fault and your only options at that point is to either downgrade to a Windows 10 version which has driver support for your hardware or upgrade your hardware.

I personally ditched Creative back in the late 90's/early 2000's just for their apparent lack of driver support for older hardware models. Superb hardware with lacking driver support does not make a good hardware purchase IMHO. For example a quick search of the Creative website revealed the latest driver release for your sound card was 2015.

I am also having a similar problem with creative sound blaster audigy fx 5.1 pcie-express sound card. I used to have it in my older pc 32 bit running Windows 10 and it was working fine. But recently I upgraded the pc to Windows 10 64 bits and moved the card over. Installed the driver and the program controller. The program controller did not recognize the sound card. It keeps reporting that "Sound card not found" but Device Manager sees and installs the card.

The last problem I need to solve before I can try installing a game is that there's no sound. I took a look at the internals and the sound card inside is marked Creative CT2980, which I take to mean Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16. The card is connected to a built-in speaker (it's an "all-in-one" pc), for reference. Can someone link me to the proper drivers, and also tell me exactly how to install them? I imagine I'll have to write the files to a floppy disk and go into DOS, but last time I tried that I got an error so I want to be extra sure this time. Thanks.

I downloaded the one labelled "Sound Blaster 16 DOS Installation Disks" and extracted it, but there are three folders inside - "csp" "install" and "pnpcfg". There is no setup.exe anywhere inside, but each folder has an install.exe. Did I download the wrong one, or is install.exe the same thing?

These folders are likely meant to hold the content of three separate diskettes:

SB16 Driver Disk

Creative Plug&Pray Disk (with CTCM/CTCU programs ?)

Disk with software for the SB16's optional ASP/CSP chip

I went into Windows 3.11 again and checked the available drivers, and only SB 1.0 and 1.5 are listed, not 2.0. I would be fine with basic mono if I could find it, since I'm only using the built-in speaker anyway.

But after that I tried installing "Sound Blaster 16/SB32/AWE32 Basic Disk for DOS/Windows 3.1 Installation" from Creative's website, and it seems to have installed properly, but I'm stilling not getting any sound. Not sure why Windows doesn't see it.

Does anyone here currently run a sound card with the above chipset in Win98, or do they have Windows 98 labeled drivers for them? It could be anything from something on the net you've downloaded, or an installation disc.

This question came up here before. I've got an SB Live in my Win98 but I had bought this and have the CD for it still. I had emailed it to a user back in 2008, who responded with a "battlecruiser operational" however I can't find the files. I'll try to remember to look for the CD at home.

Oh well, I have an old Yamaha I pulled out of my original 98/ME PC. I was hoping to take it back out for tower space, and to return it to the other PC for use. Unless someone knows how to modify Creative's NT drivers into 9x ones, I'm out of luck.

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0007. It's from Feb 2004. When you run the program it tells you it can't find a SB card. While the message is still on the screen, go into your C:\Windows\Temp folder and copy the Crf000 folder to your desktop. In there is a Drivers folder, inside that is the Win2K_XP folder- it's actually for 98SE too. I just got my Audigy LS working.

After upgrading to Windows 10, the speakers on my laptop no longer work. I can get sound through the headphones jack, and I can get sound with a pair of USB headphones that I have, but if I want sound straight from my on-board speakers, there's nothing.

I've already updated the drivers for my sound card, and when I check the drivers for my speakers with Windows' auto-search driver feature, it responds that my drivers are already up to date. When I select my speakers from the Device Manager and view properties, under the Events tab it says that the device could not be migrated. When I click on Driver Details under the Driver tab, I receive the message "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device."

I've even visit Creative Labs' website to check for a more up to date windows 10 driver for my sound card (Sound Blaster Recon3Di). Creative Labs projects Windows 10 drivers for the Recon3D PCIe cards to be available by sometime in August, however, there is no specific mention of a Windows 10 driver for my card (the Recon3Di) being developed.

I've exhausted all avenues for fixing this issue. I've only just bought my Alienware laptop, and I absolutely love, but this is the first major issue that I've had and am regretting upgrading to Windows 10. Please help.

I have the same problem with my system, which is also an Alienware 17 R2. I updated to Windows 10 yesterday, but had my headphones plugged in so didn't notice until today that my speakers would not produce sound. I went into the driver for the Recon3D and tried to update; it did, but did not change the problem. I hope there is an update soon that will correct this.

This fix did not work for me. I updated all drivers.. and your link goes to a driver compatible with windows 8 and windows 7 only. I own the same model. If you have the same issue I had once you try his fix. Here is a click stream of how to fix.

Right click on Your computer>manage>device manager>sound,video and game controllers> right click on your Soundblaster Recon3Di>update drive software>Browse my computer for driver software> let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer> choose High Definition Audio device.

None of these fixes have worked for me. With headphones connected, sound is fine. Using the speakers there is nothing but repetitive chirping/barking. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling every sound related drivers/software I can find to no avail. Dell support, any other ideas?

i had the same problem except my headphone jacks weren't working and it made me so depressed. My speakers were working and my usb headphones worked but my 3.5mm headphone ports weren't picking up volume. I literally made an account right now just to thank polaris84 because that download made it work. No homo but i could kiss that man right now i'm so happy. Called alienware and they would've charged me $400+ to get it fixed because i thought it was broken. Thank you so much

Switching to the High Definition Audio Device driver also worked, but considering the fact that it reverts to the nonfunctional driver every time I put my machine to sleep (at least twice a day) that wasn't a tenable solution.

I got two files from Creative.com. SBBASIC.exe and a separate update driver file. Both of these lockup seemingly when they are doing the hardware detection for the SB16. How do you get these drivers to install? I'm setting up Win3.11

I experimented a bit and tried to find working drivers but the only ones that work are my own old german ones I kept on an old CD.

The whatcard.exe that comes with that seems to work with the drivers found on soundblaster.com (and other places).

To install, start the installation and when it stalls either because it freezes or when it won't proceed because it doesn't like the IO address, turn of Dosbox and in the left over temporary directory replace whatcard.exe with the attached one and make it write protected (important, otherwise the installation will just overwrite it again).

When you now start the installationn it will complain that it can't create a file. Ignore it and proceed.

These drivers do not require previous drivers to be installed. The word update in this case indicates that the drivers themselves were updated by Creative Labs, not that they update drivers.

I moved the card to a different slot, disabled both serial ports and the parallel port, as well as disabling APIC mode (however, Windows XP doesn't like that for some reason. It refused to XP after disabling it.)

Anyways, I installed the "Sound Blaster (Live! Series) Drivers Update (5.42 MB)" but during installation, the add hardware wizard came up and attempted to find the drivers. But yet again it said that it couldn't find any drivers for the device. Upon rebooting, the add hardware wizard came up again, it appears that the driver update didn't even install.

It now lists the card under "Other Devices">"PCI Multimedia Audio Device" as before, as well as under "Creative Miscellaneous Devices" as a "Creative Multimedia Interface". The "Creative Multimedia Interface" device status states that "The MMDEVLDR.VXD device loaders(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)" I wonder if at this point you've tried so many things that your registry is corrupt and won't allow the drivers to load properly.

Some times a driver may not work, even if the driver is the correct one due to the fact that the recognition line in the '.ini' file isn't correct or missing some stuff... happened to me with an older MSI board with onboard sound... Windows will store the ID of the Card in the HKEY_CURREN_CONFIG\System\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\PCI

there you will find the correct PCI ID, which you can use to edit the '.ini' file of your driver, by adding missing or deleting too much info, but be careful to locate the correct subsection as this can cause a little havok...
