Dr. Soumyadeep Halder Postdoctoral Research Associate IIT Gandhinagar
Soumyadeep Halder is a theoretical physicist working at the intersection of Ultracold Quantum Gases and quantum optics. He received his PhD in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Sonjoy Majumder. His doctoral research focused on the formation of quantum droplets and supersolid phases in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). He also studied the emerging ground state phases and dynamics of spin-orbit coupled spinor BECs and dynamical instability in multi-component BECs.
Soumyadeep currently works as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Assoc. Prof. B. Prasanna Venkatesh at IIT Gandhinagar. His research interests include the nonequilibrium dynamics of polariton condensates, quantum turbulence and temporally controlled dynamic disorder-induced phenomena. He is also interested in light–matter interactions, cavity QED, and cavity optomechanics with dipolar and spinor BECs, as well as the development of theoretical frameworks for quantum sensing and metrology.
