Before awakening to the truth of his lineage, Link is a rambunctious heart eager to prove himself. Friendly and open, when he's not practicing, he's eager to speak and play with others. His trips to Zora's Domain earns him fast friends with Bazz and Mipha, despite the differences in age and race.
After awakening, Link is still his kind self, but there's a wisdom beyond his years that rests in his heart. In his youth he spoke often, but this new weight mutes his voice and he's much more focused on his duties.

COURAGEOUS
trait
Rather than the absence of fear, courage is the knowledge that something else is more important. For Link, this is the safety of Hyrule and all that reside there. It's their smiles he wants to protect. His destiny was never asked for, but it falls to him nonetheless.
FOCUSED
trait
Give him a task, set him a goal, and Link will accomplish it. With his singular devotion to weaponry and his destiny as the Hero of Time, at times Link has started to see himself as a tool. He is happy to serve, but sometimes wonders what his life might have been like otherwise.
EXPRESSIVE
trait
It can be rare, but Link is quite expressive. He naturally gestures when he speaks and can get animated with certain topics. However, when he remembers the expectations placed on him, he becomes somber.
DISCIPLINED
trait
As a master of so many weapons, Link has become accustomed to rigorous schedules and training regiments. Practice and repetition hone the actions into muscle memory, giving him an edge in combat where he can react flawlessly without a second thought. It's a talent born from centuries of practice and battle.
KIND
trait
In his heart, Link truly wants to help others. He has no problem going out of his way to lend his abilities to those in most need of them. Sometimes this lands him in hard situations.
SOUL OF A HERO
canon
Breath of the Wild.
In the past, Link served as Zelda’s knight in the events leading up to Calamity Ganon’s return. When their initial attack fails, he is sealed away to recover from his near-fatal injuries. He awakens 100 years later to the world in ruins and monsters roaming. He sets out to reclaim the Divine Beasts and the Master Sword so that he can help Zelda and defeat Ganon. Afterward, the two must rebuild Hyrule.
IN ANOTHER LIFE
canon
For writing other instances of Link for games I’ve played.
Includes ALttP, OoT, MC, TP, PH, SS, and ALBW
ARLATHAN KNIGHT
dragon age
When the city of Arlathan reigned, Link served as a knight. In the days leading up to the placement of the Veil, Link would see the fall of his society before becoming gravely injured. The only one capable of wielding a certain sword, he was put into a magic sleep and he was meant to be waken when his wounds had healed and he could try to undo what had been done. Now, thousands of years later, he has awoken with no memory of the past and in a land now much different from his own. He travels in search of his purpose but finds the world rarely treats elves kindly.
NEREVAR REBORN
the elder scrolls
Born a bosmer in 3E 385. He fulfilled the prophecy of the Nerevarine in 3E 427. He brought the three houses of Morrowind together and defeated Dagoth Ur, as well as went on to fight Almalexia and Vivec. After contracting Corprus and negating its negative side effects, he now finds himself with immunity to diseases and with apparent immortality. He leaves Morrowind after fulfilling the prophecy and travels Tamriel.

Reincarnated Hero
This life is the latest in a long string of reincarnations for the Hero of Time. Hyrule has seen the rise and fall of calamities over the centuries, the flow of time diverting like a stream around momentous events only to converge once more upon Hyrule. As the wielder of the Triforce of Courage, Link's fate rests outside of time, just as the fates of those who wield the Triforces of Wisdom and Power do. Like them, the Master Sword, the blade that seals the darkness, has been a constant and carries with it the Hero's memories when he awakens to his true power.
In this life, Link has been raised in the castle, the son to two kingdom guards. They trained and encouraged him in the art of fighting, from lances and swords to bows and strategy. They quickly found that even without their instruction, he displayed a great amount of skill uncommon for a boy his age. At merely four years of age, Link was deemed a fighting prodigy.
As a child, he was reckless, his boundless energy demanding that he expend it as quickly as possible in whatever way possible. His ability to best adults in combat fueled his confidence and he was
happy to share his knowledge with others. He had the chance to do so with a Zora boy named Bazz who, like himself, was the son of a knight.
When Link pulled the Master Sword from its resting place, everything changed. From his hand, it whispered and revealed the past lives his soul harbored, from a lofty, skybound land to the depths of twilight and across a vast ocean. More lives, and countless fights, lurked in the mists of his mind, and the once exuberant boy fell silent. When not training or fulfilling his duties, Link often spent time with the horses, finding their presence therapeutic.
As the Calamity loomed before them and Hyrule scrambled to prepare, Link stayed steadfast by the princess’s side. However, he found his presence unwelcomed. The cold reception would not deter him from his duty in protecting her. He knew how their fates were tied to Ganon’s. Four Champions, one from each race, were appointed to pilot the Divine Beasts and preparations began for Calamity Ganon's return.
Link accompanied Zelda to the different springs and across Hyrule as she attempted to awaken her power. Ever her silent companion,
he wished he could help, but knew of no advice to offer. This was her own journey and all he could do was stay by her side.
Finally, the day came when Calamity Ganon appeared, and none of them were prepared for the havoc he would rain down upon them. The Guardians were turned against them and each appointed Champion failed, even Link. It was Zelda who saved him and had him secreted away to recover. When he would awake nearly a hundred years later, it would be without any of his memories.
GENERAL
This is my own interpretation of Link, please respect that.
I do subscribe to the timeline theories and they're part of my Link. Which means if you write Zelda or Ganondorf, it would affect your muse. I'm flexible but would want to make sure we're on the same page. Otherwise, my Link wouldn’t be for you.
Additionally, I'm open to writing other versions of Link from the other games. I know a lot of them so feel free to ask!
