THE PROGRAM

Overview

The goal of Studio On Stage is to shape confident and well-prepared performers. Participants will work to develop their natural voice, dance and acting skills. They will showcase their talents with a final Musical Theatre performance.

The program is designed for youth ages 10 to 18. Entrance into Studio On Stage is by Audition and enrolment is limited to 25 Participants. The program runs over 18 weeks from October to February.

As the ensemble comes together and works on character, movement and voice, we will be building a solid foundation for the deeper work of script, songs and choreography that will be performed in the final "Cinder-Ella" show, ensuring all of our Participants will be well-prepared for our two performances on February 24th!

Final Casting of the show will be done after the ensemble has had a chance to work together for a few sessions. This will give everyone an opportunity to shine!

We will end with a Cast Party Sunday February 25th... *Can you say "karaoke dance party"?!

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are three hours long, from 2pm to 5pm, and we will have scheduled breaks for water, facilities and light nut free snacks.

Sorry!  - Parents are not allowed to watch Rehearsals.

Participants should bring:

Show Meeting for Cinder-Ella

Please make note of a full-company meeting for Parents to attend on Sunday January 14th. This meeting will provide information on "Cinder-Ella", the Show Week schedule and we may ask for volunteers to help with any outstanding details.

Everyone! Please help promote Cinder-Ella, so the kids will have full-house audiences for the two performances on Feb. 24th!

Absences

SOS is a culminative ensemble experience in which we build skills towards our team performance. Just as members of a sports team understand that they cannot let their teammates down, so the SOS Actors must realize that they are an integral part of the production and should make best efforts not to skip, arrive late or leave rehearsal early.

When an absence is simply unavoidable due to illness or other issues, please notify us as soon as possible so we can schedule that day’s work accordingly. Please email StudioOnStageHub@gmail.com.

Cancellations:

Please stay home if the driving conditions are bad! And do notify us as soon as possible as conditions where you live may be very different than those in Port Hope.

If Rehearsals need to be cancelled by SOS (due to illness, bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances) best efforts will be made to give timely notifications. In lieu of a normal rehearsal, we may call a zoom rehearsal with certain participants to continue with the development of the project, which will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
