SOS AMS Podcast

Save Our Supply - Antimicrobial Stewardship

Coming in from Edmonton, Alberta, the SOS AMS podcast brings you 25 minute brief evidence reviews on major infections that contribute significantly to antimicrobial use in clinical practice. We go through key topics like distinguishing infection from non-infectious mimickers, a microbiology and antibiotics primer, AECOPD, CAP, HAP, cellulitis, UTIs, intraabdominal infections, Sepsis NYD, and bacteremia. Working through learning obectives, we review the pathophysiology and diagnosis of these conditions, best evidence in management, and apply the principles discussed to patient cases.

Written by an ID AMS pharmacist from Ontario and British Columbia, reviewed by ID AMS physicians from Saskatchewan and Alberta, and joined by an ER Nurse and Family doc from Alberta, these podcasts bring a Canadian AMS perspective to commonly encountered infections.
