Big Bunny ("we," "our," or "us") developed Sortifact ("the app"). This privacy policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Sortifact does not collect personal data. Everything you catalog in the app stays on your device. We do not have an account system, we do not have servers that store your data, we do not use analytics, and we do not share any information with advertisers. The only time the app communicates with the internet is when you choose to scan a book barcode, and even then, only the ISBN number is transmitted.
The app stores your collections, items, photos, custom fields, and settings on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (for example, using the CSV export feature, which creates a file you can save or share).
If you delete the app, this data is removed from your device. We have no copy of it.
The barcode scanning feature is optional and only runs when you tap the "Scan Barcode" button. When you scan a book, the app sends the ISBN number to the following public third-party services to retrieve book information (title, author, publisher, cover image):
Google Books API — Google's privacy policy
Open Library API — Open Library's privacy statement
No personally identifying information is sent to these services — only the numeric ISBN. We do not receive or store any information about your searches.
Sortifact offers a one-time in-app purchase called "Sortifact Pro" which unlocks additional features. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit and App Store. We do not see your payment information, name, email, or Apple ID. We receive from Apple only a signal that the purchase was completed, which we use to unlock the Pro features on your device.
If you use the app's camera feature to photograph items, the photo is saved to the app's local storage on your device. If you use the photo picker to select from your photo library, the selected image is copied into the app's storage. We do not have access to photos outside the ones you select.
Sortifact does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. The app is safe for all ages and is rated 4+ in the App Store.
If we ever change this policy, we will update the date at the top and post the revised version on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new policy.

By downloading, installing, or using Sortifact ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
We make Sortifact carefully and try hard to make it useful and reliable. However, the app is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be free from errors, that it will meet your specific needs, or that it will be available without interruption. You use the app at your own risk.
Sortifact stores all your data on your device. We do not back up your data. We do not have access to your collections, items, or photos, and we cannot recover them if they are lost. We strongly recommend that you:
Keep your iPhone backed up via iCloud Backup or iTunes
Export your collections to CSV periodically using the built-in export feature
Big Bunny is not responsible for any loss of data.
You may use Sortifact for any lawful personal or commercial purpose. You agree not to:
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
Use the app to store or catalog content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
Attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the app or abuse the in-app purchase system
Sortifact is free to use with optional paid features accessible through an in-app purchase called "Sortifact Pro" ($6.99 USD or equivalent in your local currency). This is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription, and no recurring charges.
All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as determined by Apple's refund policies. Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Big Bunny. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you restore your purchase on a new device, you must be signed in to the same Apple ID that originally made the purchase.
The barcode scanning feature uses Google Books and Open Library's public APIs. These are free public services operated by third parties, and we have no control over their availability or the accuracy of the data they return. We are not responsible if these services are unavailable or return incorrect information.
We may add, change, or remove features in future versions of the app. We may also change these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Big Bunny shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app and any in-app purchases, if any.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of the app will be resolved in the courts of Cuyahoaga, Ohio.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect.
Questions about these terms? Email us at [YOUR-EMAIL@DOMAIN.COM].

Response time: We usually reply within 2-3 business days. Sortifact is made by a small indie team, so please be patient with us — we're one or two people, not a 24/7 support desk.
How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device? Open Sortifact, go to Settings (gear icon), and tap the star/Pro badge at the top to open the paywall. Then tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you originally purchased with.
Where is my data stored? Entirely on your iPhone. Sortifact does not have a cloud service. To back up your collections, use the "Export as CSV" option on each collection, or rely on your iPhone's iCloud Backup.
Does Sortifact sync between my iPhone and iPad? Not currently. Each device maintains its own separate catalog. Cross-device sync is not available at this time.
The barcode scanner doesn't recognize my book. The app uses the Google Books and Open Library databases, which don't have every book ever published. Very niche, academic, or older books may not be found. In those cases, you can add the book manually — the scanned barcode number will be saved to the Serial/ID field so you can reference it later.
I'm getting an error when I try to purchase Pro. Most purchase issues resolve themselves within a few hours. If it persists, make sure your Apple ID payment method is up to date in Settings → Apple ID → Payment & Shipping. If the problem continues, email us with the error message and we'll help sort it out.
