Scan system apps is not enabled. This is occurring when I am not using the device usually just once a day around the same time. I researched that app as well. Some people were suggesting to update Android System WebView but when I go to that in the play store it doesn't seem to actually be installed. I updated all of my apps that offered updates including chrome and it still happened again today. I removed and reinstalled sophos yesterday as well but still happening.
Intercept X for mobile (Android free version)stops responding at random times and pop up box reads "sophos has stopped responding" giving the option to 'wait' or 'close app' and the anti-virus doesn't scan daily as it should sometimes and the latest issue is sophos in accessbility is turned off and so is web filtering. Web filtering will power back on but it's not staying on. As it stands right now, I'm not sure if my device is protected or not.

I've restarted my device more than once hoping to resolve issue, and as I stated, I have more than one issue going on but the issues started with anti-virus skipping days it would scan. The web filtering, sophos accessibility and the app not responding are the new issues. I've shared log files with one of your team members concerning the scanner but haven't heard anything back yet. Restarting device is the only troubleshooting I know to do.

I checked the retirement calendar you quoted, but I'm not sure what I should find there. My mobile and my tablet, which are both on Android Oreo, have version 9.6.3339 of Intercept X. So those are on the 9.6 branch, which is does not have a maintenance stop nor a support stop date specified.

The device enrollment method is the Managed Google Play Account Scenario (using afw#sophos) .
Right now, I've already set a restriction to uninstall apps in my Android Enterprise device policy in place, and also one to unenroll from SMC in the general settings.
Yet, I can't find a way to prevent user from being able to unenroll from Interceptx, either in the mobile defense policy or anywhere else.
I enrolled the Intercept X app with Sophos Mobile by applying a Mobile Threat Defense policy to the mobile device in question after it was managed in the SMC portal. Is this the same way you've set your device up?
The behaviour I see on my side is much different, though I'm unsure why this may be the case. Could you try applying the MTD policy to the mobile device manually after you have finished enrolling the device? You'll need to remove the "Assign policy > MTD policy" step from your task bundle to test this. I suggest cloning the task bundle.
We've followed the same steps you provided (applying the MTD policy to the mobile device manually after you have finished enrolling the device), yet we have the same results : the user can unenroll, and also modify the security policy locally (deactivate the web reputation for instance).
Is there a way, through Central Mobile Security, to allow the application to run without the user to access it ? Is that possible with the Application Control feature maybe (even though i think it might just stop Intercept X for Mobile to launch...) ?
The idea here is to prevent the user from modifying the security parameters applied through the policy on an Android device, just as the tamper protection would on an endpoint with Sophos Central.
I'm currently running Android vers 13 and Sophos Mobile intercept X version 9.7.3524 with an enterprise license and I still have the same issue "The Browser you selected isn't available. Please update the Link Checker configuration in Sophos Intercept X for Mobile"
It will be very nice if we could see the security Sophos logo active like the others antivirus android, because some time we could not know if Sophos is running or is deactivated.
I use to use Sophos mobile security for a long time and I will keep using it because till now this application is the best like the antivirus for windows.
On your device, Go to Apps> Sophos Intercept X for mobile> Under App info>App Setting, check for the Notifications settings( App icon badges) and see if it is enabled, I am not sure if this is you are referring to?

Can you confirm whether you're using the free or licensed mobile version? Have you fully allowed the security permission on sophos mobile for the said application? If you're using the free version, this security permission will be asked upon setting-up the configuration of sophosm mobile after installation. If you'rre Using a manage device, you might refer to this documentation for the steps.
In the release notes page relating to Sophos inercept x for mobile for Android and written this among the know issues: "Sophos Accessibility Service turned off on some devices.
On some devices, Android turns off the Sophos Accessibility Service, which Web Filtering requires. Sophos Intercept X for Mobile detects this and asks the user to turn on the service again. "
Should this happen to avoid this, is it necessary to install the additional Security & Antivirus Guard app or not?
