Monday, 11.4.2019

Journal Entry

Met with Mr. Kelman today and he brought up how I could consider making Chapter 8, or the parts I just shot, black and white if the colors are really so bad. I'll consider it.

I've made a lot of progress on the documentary, but I still haven't recorded the voiceover parts. I need to start putting in b-roll from school and other stuff to fill in the spaces. The structure is really coming along though!

Journal Entry

Came in during lunch to work before Spanish. I'm almost done with the structure! After that, I can start putting in b-roll and making it look better. I also need to think about what I'm doing for music.

Journal Entry (Part 2)

Back again after dinner. Structure done! It came out at a whopping 18 minutes--yikes! Or, maybe it's okay? We'll see.

I've ben working for about three hours now to find b-roll and photos and put them into the timeline. For some parts, I really just don't have anything I can use for b-roll and I'm kind of worried about what I'm going to do about that. I ALSO DON'T WANT THIS DOCUMENTARY TO BE BORING!!!

Just finished recording the narration and letter-readings for Chapter 8 on the floor of my dorm room. I needed a quiet space! About to head to Polk to put these last few things in and start polishing.

Journal Entry (Part 2)

Stayed at Polk until ALS, came back after dinner until sign-in. I've probably spent at least 15 hours at Polk this week--oi! Stuff is REALLY coming along now on Chapter 8. THE END IS NIGH! But if I had another week and didn't have to finish by this Friday for the Trustees, that'd be great too. Oh, time never enough at last.

Journal Entry

Definitely spent at least 5 hours at Polk today. Finished Chapter 7 today!!!!! Well, a soft kind of "finished." I would say that if I exported it right now, it could be show-able to the Trustees. I really do want more time to polish it, though. I also haven't exported yet, but I'm going to do that tomorrow during Unscheduled Time or 7th period since Mrs. McQuade cancelled class.

Chapter 7 exported!! At least, the version for the Trustees is. I really hope Dr. Son and Dr. Roberts like it, and I hope the event goes well tonight! There are a few imperfections but I'll fix those for the actual version. Now, to start Chapter 8 and finish Chapter 4.

Journal Entry

Finished Chapter 7 for real this time! I'm going to hold off from exporting and uploading for now because Mr. Nam replied to my email (finally) and will (hopefully) be giving me some photos or something or other. I mean, it won't be a big deal if he doesn't, it would just be nice to have more stuff, as per the usual. But, anyway, Chapter 7 done! Yay!

Started syncing the footage and loosely structuring for Chapter 4. The audio, as ALWAYS when I shoot outside and it's windy, is a little rough and it's not getting better with a LowPass. I really need one of those windmuffs for my recorder. I hope this turns out well! Honestly, it's probably my least favorite Chapter but that's why it'll be in the middle.
