Journal Entry

Came in right after school today to work on Chapter 4, I'm really trying to get this done ASAP so I can start putting together the final order for the portfolio and uploading it to Scholastic.

I've put a lot of Chapter 4 together, it's not taking too long. I'd say the tricky part will be audio because it was really windy that day. I decided to cut a few lines just because they didn't sound quite right or they didn't really add anything to the film. I think Chapter 4 is the weakest chapter on its own, but I hope it will work well in the portfolio once everything is put in an order.

Journal Entry

History is over until finals so I don't have to go to sixth period anymore. I'm here, now, during my sixth period to work on Chapter 4. The sequence is finalized, so I'm just working on color grading and audio balancing now. I think I'm going to start working on Chapter 8 because color grading and audio balancing is so tedious and so monotonous.

Just finished Chapter 4! Will export tomorrow. I like to sit on my projects for a day before exporting for good. Starting Chapter 8 now. I also re-exported and re-uploaded the fixed version of Listening to Silence, which I think will actually become a separate film altogether. I talked to Mr. Kelman, and for my portfolio, it would probably make more sense to include an excerpt of Listening to Silence, a new, shorter film from the original documentary.

Journal Entry

Talked to Mr. Kelman today about order and sequencing, about corresponding energies and the flow of the pieces within the portfolio. I'm here after class to work, hopefully I'll get a lot done on Chapter 8 and maybe the new version of Chapter 7! Actually, it's going to become really confusing because the chapter numbers are changing soon. Oops.

Just finished new, condensed version of Chapter 7 for the portfolio. It's still 7 and a half minutes, but I feel like that's okay?

I also did a lot of work on Chapter 8. With the goal to not make it too long, I probably need to stop myself soon.

Journal Entry

Today is the last day before finals, so I'm really trying to finish EVERYTHING today. It's almost 3 already because I spent too much time studying for my math final before getting over to Polk, but that's okay, balance, you know? Anyway, there are just a lot of small, final touches to make.

Just finished Chapter 8! Yay! I'm gonna go back and take another look at the condensed Chapter 7, and then we should have all films done! omg!!
