Soo-Nipi Quilters Guild

The Soo-Nipi Quilters Guild has approximately 70 members, from beginners to advanced quilters.  We meet the third Thursday of each month at the South Congregational Church in Newport, New Hampshire from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Membership dues are $30.00 annually.

Activities throughout the year include a biennial quilt show at the Library Arts Center in Newport, a raffle quilt and lots of charity quilts, sewing days, and great programs!  Visitors are always welcome. Come join us!

Upcoming Events:

April 18: Directions

This will be a funky program presented by Candy Crawford.   It will be fun, and we may all learn something we can apply to our quilting project and maybe, even to our lives!!  Bring your tolerance and good humor and 8.5” x 11” paper and a pencil. A clipboard or book for support when writing would be helpful to bring as well.

May 16: TBD (to be determined!)

June 20:  Auction

This fun auction has quilting related items, batting, cotton quilting fabric, (unless you have cuddle or minkee for backings), fabric size no less than 10 x 10 inches, unless they are Pre-Cuts. i.e., layer cakes, charm squares or pre-cut strips.

  July 18: Red Quilts

Last year Candy Crawford led a program on the log cabin square. Well, this year, the program is on “Red Quilts".

August 15:  TBD

September 19:  Comfort Quilts Round Robin

This project is meant to share our resources, fabric and ideas.  It also tests our precision and design abilities.

October 17: Comfort Quilts Sharing and Giving

In 2023 the Guild members donated over 90 quilts to area organizations for those in need.

Remember:  In case of inclement weather, meetings shall be cancelled if the public schools in Newport are cancelled. WMUR lists all school closings.  In the event of a delay of school due to inclement weather, the meeting will take place as planned.
