If you want exceptional battery longevity and a lightweight, minimalist design for everyday listening, choose Sony WH-CH520L; if you need true over-ear isolation, hybrid active noise cancellation, and wired connectivity options for immersive TV watching, choose ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise.
• Sony WH-CH520L: The standout strength is its massive 50-hour battery life with quick charging support, paired with a featherlight on-ear build that stays comfortable for hours. Its biggest trade-off is the lack of active noise cancellation and an open ear cup design that lets ambient sound in. This pick is for commuters and casual listeners who prioritize portability and long playtime over silence.
• ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise: The clear winner here is the hybrid active noise cancellation system and the secure over-ear fit that blocks out distractions, plus a 3.5mm jack for wired use. The main compromise is the heavier weight and bulkier carrying case compared to the Sony. This pick is for home theater enthusiasts and deep-focus workers who demand silence and bass-heavy immersion.
The Sony WH-CH520L is engineered for people who value freedom from the charger more than they value total silence. With a battery life that stretches up to 50 hours on a single charge, this on-ear model is built to survive weeks of daily commutes or work sessions without needing a power outlet. If you ever find yourself rushing out the door with low battery anxiety, the quick charge feature is a lifesaver; just three minutes of charging delivers about 1.5 hours of listening time, which is enough to get you through a short commute or a quick workout.
Design-wise, this headphone leans heavily into comfort and minimalism. Weighing in at just 310 grams, it uses soft polyurethane ear pads and an adjustable headband to distribute pressure evenly across your ears. Because it sits on top of the ear rather than enclosing it, it avoids the "hot ear" feeling common with heavy over-ear cans, making it ideal for all-day wear in warmer environments. However, this on-ear placement means you will still hear background chatter, traffic, or office noise, as the primary noise control method is physical sound isolation rather than electronic cancellation.

This product is perfect for music lovers who use Bluetooth multipoint connection to seamlessly switch between a laptop and a phone. The Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) helps restore high frequencies in compressed audio files, giving you a richer sound profile even with standard streaming services. If you are looking for headphones specifically for TV watching where you might need to keep one ear open to hear the room, or if you simply prefer a sleek, unobtrusive look that fits easily into a small bag, the Sony is a strong contender. Just be aware that it lacks a wired audio jack, so you are entirely dependent on Bluetooth 5.2 for your audio feed.
The ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise headphone is designed for those who demand a sanctuary of sound, particularly when trying to enjoy media like movies or shows without interruption. Unlike the Sony, these headphones wrap around the ear completely with an over-ear design, creating a physical seal that works in tandem with the hybrid active noise cancellation technology. You can toggle between ANC-ON, ANC-OFF, and Transparency mode with a simple button press, allowing you to cut out the hum of an air conditioner or the noise of a busy street instantly.
For serious TV watchers, the inclusion of a 3.5mm auxiliary jack is a significant advantage. While Bluetooth offers convenience, a wired connection eliminates any potential latency issues or compression artifacts, ensuring that dialogue stays crisp and perfectly synced with the action on screen. The audio drivers are 40 millimeters in size, delivering deep bass and a HiFi experience that feels more immersive than the smaller dynamic drivers found in many on-ear models. Additionally, the custom EQ available through the "Original sound" app lets you fine-tune the frequency response to match your specific hearing preferences or the type of content you are consuming.
These headphones are heavier, weighing 8.8 ounces, and come in a larger cardboard carrying case, but the trade-off is worth it for the level of isolation provided. The build features rotatable and foldable hinges, making them travel-friendly despite their size. If you spend long hours gaming or binge-watching series and need to block out the world completely, or if you require a wired backup option for older TVs and devices, the ANCAMITA G4 is the superior choice. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity ensures a stable range of up to 10 meters, and the 50-hour playtime matches the Sony, so you won't sacrifice battery life for better performance.
• Best for Battery Life & Quick Charging → Both offer 50 hours, but the Sony's 3-minute quick charge is faster than the ANCAMITA's 1.5-hour full recharge time.
• Best for Isolation & Silence → ANCAMITA wins hands down with hybrid active noise cancellation and over-ear sealing.
• Best for Long TV Watching Sessions → ANCAMITA is better due to the over-ear design preventing fatigue and the wired option reducing audio lag.
• Best for Portability & Weight → Sony WH-CH520L is significantly lighter (310g vs 8.8oz) and has a slimmer profile for pockets.
• Best for Wired Connectivity → Only the ANCAMITA includes a 3.5mm jack for direct connections.
• Best for Voice Assistant Integration → Sony supports voice control via touch buttons and Swift Pair for easier device switching.
• Best for Bass & Immersion → ANCAMITA's 40mm drivers and closed-back design provide deeper, more impactful bass.
• Best for Multi-Device Switching → Sony's multipoint Bluetooth allows seamless toggling between two connected devices simultaneously.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise if my primary goal was finding the best headphones for TV watching. The combination of hybrid active noise cancellation, over-ear comfort, and a wired audio jack creates a much more cinematic experience than the Sony can offer. While the Sony is an excellent lightweight companion for daily errands, the ANCAMITA provides the immersion and audio fidelity required for sinking into a movie or game without distraction. For anyone prioritizing a dedicated home entertainment setup, the extra weight is a small price to pay for the superior sound isolation and connection reliability.
The ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise supports a 3.5mm wired connection which eliminates Bluetooth latency, making it the safer bet for syncing audio with video. The Sony relies solely on Bluetooth 5.2, which is fast but may introduce slight delay depending on your TV's receiver.
Both models advertise up to 50 hours of average battery life. However, the Sony WH-CH520L offers a distinct advantage with its rapid 3-minute quick charge capability, whereas the ANCAMITA requires a longer 1.5-hour charge to reach full capacity.
Yes, the Sony comes with a plastic carrying case, though it is compact. The ANCAMITA includes a larger cardboard case to accommodate its foldable, over-ear frame, which takes up more space.
You can use the ANCAMITA Hybrid Active Noise with older TVs using the included 3.5mm auxiliary cable. The Sony WH-CH520L does not have a headphone jack and requires a Bluetooth transmitter to connect to non-BT devices.
