If you want a wireless headset for call center work with over-ear active noise cancellation and multipoint Bluetooth, choose Sony Over-Ear Active Noise; if you need secure, water-resistant earbuds for workouts and long stretches away from charging, choose HAOYUYAN Earbuds. For a desk-based call center, I’d choose Sony: its beamforming microphones and ability to switch between a smartphone and laptop suit a work setup better. HAOYUYAN’s ear hooks, IPX7 rating, and charging case make it a different kind of pick.
• Sony Over-Ear Active Noise: Over-ear active noise cancellation, beamforming microphones, and multipoint Bluetooth are its main strengths. Its trade-off is the larger headband design, which is less suited to workouts or wet conditions.
• HAOYUYAN Earbuds: Flexible ear hooks, an IPX7 rating, and up to 80 hours of listening with the case make it a strong active-use option. Its trade-off is an in-ear fit and environmental noise cancellation rather than the Sony’s over-ear active noise cancellation.
• Choose Sony if you want a headphone for call center duties, especially when you need to move between a laptop and phone.
• Choose HAOYUYAN if a secure fit for exercise, water protection, and case-based charging matter more than an over-ear work headset.
• The key distinction is not simply headphones versus earbuds. These products are built around different routines. Sony pairs a light over-ear design with noise control and call-focused microphones. HAOYUYAN emphasizes a hooked fit, water resistance, and a long combined listening figure that includes repeated charging from its case. For calls at a desk, the Sony features are more directly relevant. For running or training, the HAOYUYAN design makes more sense.
Sony is the more natural fit for someone who spends a large part of the day listening or taking calls in one place. Its over-ear design uses soft, oval-shaped synthetic leather earpads, and the listed weight is 192 grams. That combination suggests a headband intended for extended listening without the bulk of a heavier over-ear model. Its stated battery life is up to 35 hours, which may suit a long work stretch or several days of intermittent use before charging, depending on how the headphones are used.
For a call center worker, the standout detail is the beamforming microphone system, described as isolating the wearer’s voice for calls. That feature, combined with multipoint Bluetooth, makes Sony a more work-oriented choice here: it can connect to a smartphone and laptop and switch between them. The Integrated Processor V1 and Dual Noise Sensor technology support active noise cancellation, while Adaptive Sound Control adjusts ambient settings based on location and activity. Those features offer useful flexibility for someone moving between work and other listening situations.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
I’d consider Sony for a remote worker, frequent listener, or anyone who wants an over-ear wireless headset for call center use. Its limitation is just as important: the supplied information does not list a water-resistance rating or workout-focused ear hooks. If you need earbuds that stay secured during a run or tolerate exposure to rain and sweat, Sony’s headband-style design is not the stronger match.
Who should skip it: Skip Sony if your priority is a water-resistant, hooked earbud for exercise rather than over-ear noise cancellation and calls.
The included cable and USB charging cable give the package wired and charging accessories, while the headphones themselves use Bluetooth. The listed connectivity also includes NFC. I would not treat those details as a substitute for checking device compatibility, but they show that Sony is designed to work as a wireless listening option with a cable included as well. The main practical trade-off remains fit and use: it covers the ears and is positioned for listening and calls, not a compact, weather-ready workout routine.
HAOYUYAN is aimed at movement. Its flexible ear hooks are intended to help hold the earbuds in place, and the package includes three sizes of silicone tips for a more adjustable fit. That design is a better match for someone running, training, or doing other active tasks than an over-ear headband. The stated IPX7 rating is another clear distinction: the product information says it is protected against sweat, rain, and accidental submersion up to one meter for up to 30 minutes.
Battery life is a major part of the pitch, but it is worth reading the figure carefully. HAOYUYAN lists up to 15 hours of playback from each earbud on a single charge, with the charging case providing eight additional full charges and up to 80 hours of total listening. That is a combined figure involving the case, not 80 hours from one earbud charge. The case also has a dual digital power display, so you can see its remaining battery information when opening or closing it. Type-C fast charging is listed for the case.
The earbuds use 14.3 mm dynamic drivers and environmental noise cancellation. HAOYUYAN describes an acoustic design intended to balance internal and external air pressure and reduce sound loss, with voice detection for calls in noisy settings. Bluetooth 5.3 and a stated range of 33 feet provide the wireless connection details. Case-opening automatic reconnection to the last paired device is intended to make setup straightforward. These features make HAOYUYAN a practical option for someone who wants wireless earbuds for exercise and everyday listening, with calls as an additional use.
Who should skip it: Skip HAOYUYAN if your main need is an over-ear headset with beamforming microphones and multipoint switching between a laptop and smartphone.
For a call center, the difference in microphone information matters. HAOYUYAN is described as supporting voice detection in noisy environments, but the supplied details do not specify beamforming microphones or multipoint connections. That does not establish that it cannot handle calls; it means the Sony has more clearly stated call-focused features for a desk-based setup. HAOYUYAN’s stronger case is when a secure in-ear fit and water protection are central to the day.
• Best fit for desk-based call center work → Sony Over-Ear Active Noise. Its beamforming microphones and multipoint Bluetooth are directly relevant to calls and switching between a laptop and phone.
• Best for running or training → HAOYUYAN Earbuds. Flexible ear hooks and three silicone tip sizes are designed to help create a secure in-ear fit.
• Best for wet or sweaty activity → HAOYUYAN Earbuds. Its listed IPX7 rating covers exposure to sweat and rain as well as accidental submersion within the stated limits.
• Best for over-ear active noise cancellation → Sony Over-Ear Active Noise. The product specifies active noise cancellation with Dual Noise Sensor technology and Adaptive Sound Control.
• Best for long listening time with a charging case → HAOYUYAN Earbuds. Its up-to-80-hour figure includes the case’s eight additional full charges; each earbud is listed for up to 15 hours on a single charge.
• Best for a lightweight headband design → Sony Over-Ear Active Noise. Its listed weight is 192 grams, with oval synthetic leather earpads.
• Best for seeing case battery information → HAOYUYAN Earbuds. The case has a dual digital power display.
• Best for switching between two connected devices → Sony Over-Ear Active Noise. Multipoint Bluetooth is specifically listed for smartphone and laptop connections.
These are not interchangeable choices for every situation. Sony has a clearer path to a work headset role, while HAOYUYAN brings the fit and protection details that matter during exercise. The battery comparison also needs context: Sony lists 35 hours for the headphones, while HAOYUYAN’s longer total includes charges stored in its case. If you want a simple comparison for work, focus first on the microphone and multipoint features. If you want a choice for exercise, begin with fit and water resistance.
For call center work, I would buy Sony Over-Ear Active Noise. Its beamforming microphones, over-ear active noise cancellation, and multipoint connection address a desk-based calling routine more directly than the HAOYUYAN features do.
I’d choose HAOYUYAN instead for workouts, wet-weather use, or a hooked earbud fit with charging-case backup. For my call center recommendation, Sony is the more purpose-built option.
Before choosing either product, think about where it will spend most of its time. A headset worn at a workstation has different demands from earbuds used for running. Sony’s over-ear construction, voice pickup, and multipoint Bluetooth make it the more straightforward match for a person handling calls across a laptop and smartphone. HAOYUYAN’s ear hooks, silicone tip options, and IPX7 rating point toward active use.
Next, consider the kind of noise control you want. Sony specifies active noise cancellation with Dual Noise Sensor technology and Adaptive Sound Control. HAOYUYAN specifies environmental noise cancellation and an acoustic design intended to help limit sound loss. The supplied details describe different approaches; they do not provide a directly comparable measure of how much noise either product blocks. If your call center is noisy, Sony’s named beamforming microphone feature is a meaningful reason to favor it, but it is not a promise of silence or a guarantee that every call environment will sound the same.
Battery figures can also be easy to misread. Sony lists up to 35 hours for the headphones. HAOYUYAN lists up to 15 hours per earbud on a charge and up to 80 hours when the case’s additional charges are included. The case display and Type-C charging are useful supporting details, but the two totals describe different charging arrangements. Choose based on how you plan to recharge, not just which total sounds larger.
Finally, decide whether an over-ear fit or an in-ear fit will be more comfortable for your routine. Sony lists a weight of 192 grams and synthetic leather earpads. HAOYUYAN includes three silicone tip sizes and flexible ear hooks. Neither product’s listed features can establish which fit will suit every person, so consider how you prefer headphones to sit during long calls or movement. If the current price affects your decision, check the current price on Amazon before choosing; the features alone point to different use cases.
