Note:  If the pairing is not finished within 5 minutes, the pairing mode on the headphones is canceled. If this happens, place the headphones into the charging case again and start the operation from the beginning.

I have a Sony xb900n headset and the Sony Connect App for mobile phones is awesome. However, I bought this headset to mainly use on my Windows 10 PC. I discovered that there seems to be no equivalent to the Sony Connect App for Windows 10. The headphones seem to not being used to their fullest potential.

Bluetooth pairing is similar. When two Bluetooth devices are pairing, they exchange information. They establish a connection and recognise each other in the future without any introduction - unless one device forgets the other one or vice versa.

Near Field Communication (NFC) is the technology used in contactless payments. You hold your card to a card reader and wait until your payment is approved. Similarly, NFC can also be used to pair and connect Bluetooth devices. If your devices are both equipped with NFC, and the NFC setting on your phone is enabled, you can pair them instantly without going through Bluetooth settings:

Turning Bluetooth OFF and ON again is especially useful when the device you want to connect to doesn't appear in the Bluetooth menu list. Turning Bluetooth OFF and ON again refreshes the list. This tip applies to smartphones, computers and TVs.

If you have paired your Bluetooth device with different devices before, your device may have automatically connected to another device without you knowing it. Make sure you disable that connection before attempting a new one.

As one of the top headphone brands because of their innovation and overall quality, many people have high expectations for Sony headphones. This includes expecting them to work seamlessly with any device.

Despite both being Sony products, not all Sony Bluetooth headphones can connect seamlessly to the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Only specific models, like the PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset or the PlayStation Platinum Wireless Headset, are compatible with these consoles.

The Sony Headphones Connect app is an intelligent tool that allows you to customize your Sony headphones for a more personalized listening experience. I also had issues connecting sony xb900n bt headphones. I came across the YouTube video above and followed the trouble shooting methods outlined in this video. It finally worked after unpairing from my phone turning off the headphones and then holding down the on button for 4 seconds until the headphones stated "pairing". Then when I had the watch scan for new headphones it finally seen them!

I have Sony WH-1000XM3 noise-canceling headphones and they are paired, everything is fine and working, the only problem is that whenever I turn them on and the auto-connect of the Bluetooth on Ubuntu kicks in and connects to them, they start sounding weird.

Using the solution that switches to A2DP solved nothing. The headphones do connect, but then it doesn't switch to them, the sound keeps playing on the speakers of the laptop. Trying to switch from and to the headphones couple of times also doesn't solve the problem.

I had a similar issue. I had to disconnect the Headphones, remove the headset, redo the setup and than switch to A2DP in the sound setting. Disconnecting and reconnecting them was the crucial part - just switching the profile didn't change anything. I had to do this twice until it eventually worked.

I recently bought a pair of sony wh1000xm3 and had similar issues, where either the sound was bad , or the sound in a2dp was in mono, coming through the left earpad only. Disconneting and Reconnecting did not worked for me.

I had a similar issue with my Sony headset. On turning the Computer Bluetooth ON and trying to connect the Headphones I kept seeing the Unable to Connect error. On further investigation, I found that the PulseAudio module and Bluetooth Manager were missing. I performed the following steps and it worked fine for me:

The sony works well on other devices like computers (windows, mac) or bose speakers and phones (android, iPhone), so I guess something changes on the TV.

Please, I know SmartThing is a different department, but please be smart and forward it internally not to make me waste my time

Same here. Not buying Samsung anymore.

@Communityuser3049203, I literally can't use my ($2000) TV anymore. It's mounted and too loud for my apartment neighbor at night. I work during the day. I have one nice pair of bluetooth headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM4's. If I can't use them with your TV, I can't use your TV. I'm not spending another $X00 just to get a pair of headphones that work with your TV. And if I can't use your TV because you won't fix this, I'm never buying Samsung again.

On my Sony MDR-1000X Noise Cancelling Headphones, when powering on the headphones, I have to keep holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the headphones enter Discovery mode. Then I'm able to pair them to my Apple Watch.

I have successfully paired 4 different Bluetooth headphones to my Apple Watch, 2 of which are over 15 years old. Again, finding the instructions on putting them into Disovery mode was the hardest part of the pairing process.

I just realized you might not have it. If you have a laptop your probably have it. If you have a pc and not a crazy motherboard, you probably don't. If you tell me your specs I could help you out. Anyways, you can get a bluetooth adapter from amazon for under 20 dollars. It's going to be the only way to connect to the headphones. Your phone also uses bluetooth, even if you connect to the headphones through an app. There isn't any pair of headphones that I know of that connects to windows pc through an app.

There really needs to be a connect App for Windows, the reason being, even if you are connected via bluetooth (which I am) there is no way to use the EQ functionality, nor is there a way to turn off the Headphones passthrough feature if you speak, which is useless if you live alone and are trying to solve a problem and talking outloud,or singing along to a song you are listening to, which then pauses the music you are listening to and you can now hear the fans in the background. There is no way to use any of the functions that are in the app, which is only available on mobile devices. You can't even just set everything the way you want in the app and them connect to a PC, because it goes back to the awful default settings. In fact, it is so bad I highly recommend that anyone who wants to use these headphones on a PC go out and find another manufacturer, because Sony doesn't care about people who use these devices on a Laptop or a PC. These headphones are for phones only. Yes, you can pair to two devices at a time, but when using Teams the audio is not as good and you can hear the difference between connecting to two devices at a time or just one. So if you want to use only one, and that one is a PC then you have to use the default settings. There is zero customization available via a PC. This has been complained about for years, Sony has made it clear, by it's refusal to create a solution, that it just doesn't care. e24fc04721
