Board Election 2024/2025
Sonoran Foothills PTSA is required to have a minimum of FOUR Board Members to maintain compliance.
GENERAL BOARD RESPONSIBILITES
Determines fundraising approaches
Determines fund budgeting and spending proposals
Determines which services and events the Board will engage, based on funding, availability, and volunteers' assistance.
REQUIRED BOARD POSITIONS
psst... This is flexible. We all help eachother out with our varrying duties. The amount of actual work is really determined by the amount of projects we decide to do. We are here to serve the school, and we only do what we can do with the resources we have.
PRESIDENT (Including, but not limited to)
Provides oversight.
Collaborates with school adminstration re: scheduling, facility use, and campus needs.
Ensures compliance with State PTA requirements (The State PTA provides an easy to follow checklist)
Leads Board meetings. (Simply walking participants through meeting outline)
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT (Including, but not limited to)
Assisting president with ensuring compliance with State PTA requirments. (The State PTA provides an easy to follow checklist.)
Provides leadership in president's absence.
Assists with communication and collaboration with school administration and community.
SECRETARY (Including, but not limited to.)
Updates meeting notes
Completes and submits required State PTA forms. (Essentially, copy and paste from previous years with minor updates)
TREASURER (Including, but not limited to.)
Update budget records.
Complete deposits and monitor account balance.
Maintain financial records.
OPTIONAL Board Positions
We can have multiple Vice Presidents with focuses on particular areas. Below is a list of examples and possibilities.
VP of Marketing & Messaging - Social media posts, image and info-graphic design, photo and video ent updates, and website updating.
VP of Outreach - Seeking partnership with local businesses for sponsorship, fundraising, donation, and event vendors.
VP of Staff Appreciation - Create a distribute staff appreciation gifts and birthday gifts. Possibly management of the book machine.
VP of Volunteer Coordinating - Seek, manage, and coordinate volunteers from parents, SF clubs, and high schools.
VP of Sales - Manage PTSA online store, products, inventory, track purchases and donations.
VP of Design - Design spiritwear, posters, flyers, event decor, etc.
VP of Grant Acquisition - Identify grant opportunities and receive requests for grant writing assistance. Coordinate the grant writing committee.
VP of Campus Beautification - Identify needs and gather requests. Establish fundraising and coordinate with school, facilities, and vendors.
VP of Fundraising - Identify and set up fundraising opportunities.
