Gameplay in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is largely similar to its predecessor, with characters racing on different types of hoverboards called Extreme Gear. In addition to the mechanics from the previous game, Zero Gravity adds a new gameplay system based around gravity which replaces the Air mechanics. During the race, performing tricks and other actions will increase a character's Gravity Points, or GP. If players have accrued enough GP by the time they enter certain areas of the track, they may perform one of two maneuvers which lets them enter zero gravity. A Gravity Dive will create a black hole that gives the player a boost, launching them quickly down the track; this will also displace objects in the vicinity such as cars or signs, which players can pass through to gain additional speed. Alternatively, Gravity Control will shift the gravity of the course, allowing players to reach otherwise-inaccessible areas and shortcuts. Players can also use Gravity Control to more easily maneuver around sharp corners.

Compared to the previous game, this edition presents some new abilities. By performing tricks and completing challenges, gravity points can be earned. This allows for the Gravity Dive that opens up a black hole, sucking the player in and thus providing faster speed, and Gravity Control. By changing gravity alternate paths can be used through walls and other surfaces. A third one is called Gravity Drift. Just like the Grip move in the previous game, characters can use it to turn tight on corners. There are various items, obstacles on the course and different vehicles such as hover boards, bikes, air riders, yachts, air skates and other crafts. These can all be upgraded, even while racing.

1) Starting the race - this is done by actually walking backwards, then forwards so that you cross the line just as the countdown hits zero. 2) Trick jumps - whenever you come to a jump, you need to hit the button as late as possible to perform an in-air trick and earn yourself some "gravity points". 3) Gear changes - these are power-up/upgrades you must manually enable during the race by collecting a certain amount of stars. 4) Grinding - one of those said upgrades used to grind, Tony Hawk style, into the lead. 5) Gravity turns - performed using a trigger button to slow down time and dart around a hairpin corner. 6) Gravity dive - used to plummet forwards and bizarrely crashing into large objects speeds you up.

This game introduces new abilities most characters use throughout the entire game. By gaining gravity points through tricks and technical challenges, players will enter a zero-gravity zone and be able to perform two new moves: Gravity Dive, which sucks the player towards a black hole further down the track, giving them a speed boost which tosses cars and other objects off the track and into the air which characters are able to smash into to gain more speed; in the Wii version this move is done by flicking the Wii Remote upward and in the PS2 version, this is done by pressing the R1 button; and Gravity Control, which changes the gravity of the course, allowing the player to use a different track, such as one of the walls. This is done by pressing the 1 button and tilting the Wii Remote in the direction you want to go (B trigger if the Wii Remote is in vertical position) or by pressing the square button while tilting the left analog stick in the direction you want to go (PS2). Also in the game is a move called Gravity Drift. This move is similar to the Grip move in Sonic Riders in which it can help characters turn on tight corners. This is also done by pressing the 1 button and tilting the Wii Remote in the direction you want to go.[1] Items, first seen in the original Sonic Riders, give you special features, such as 5-30 rings, more gravity points, and an attack boost, which allows you to access shortcuts, such as springs.[2] Item boxes can work against you, such as a ball-and-chain that hooks on your gear and slows your speed down.

1) Stay close to inside edge on corners, this will give you the edge on tight corners this also can get closer to the front of the pack!

2) Try using your character type to your ability, speed types should always try to keep in a straight line, fly types should try and get perfect moves (score=x)this gives you extra gravity points, Power types have longer attack time when using the item that looks like a fist and a better chance of getting this (try using the short-cuts that looks like sonic running when in the fight position, this includes the springs and laser area's!)

3) Don't always go for the coolest gear such as "the chaos emerald." It always has a downside like no gravity (like mag) of runs on rings (The chaos emerald) this just dosn't help you in winning a race. 17dc91bb1f
