Privacy Policy - Sonar Strike
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how "Sonar Strike" ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App.
Data We Collect
Sonar Strike does not require you to create an account. A match against the computer itself sends no data to us. Your gameplay settings (sound, vibration, language, AI speed, color preference) are saved locally on your device only. The data described in the "Online Play" section is processed only when you use online mode.
Online Play
Online mode is optional. Online matches run through our game server. For a match to take place, the server processes both players' moves and your device's IP address - the IP address is used only to keep the connection alive and is not written to any logs.
If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the App sends our server a one-time sign-in code; the server verifies it with Google and receives your Play Games player ID and gamer name. While you are signed in, the App connects to our server already in the game menu, so players you have played with can invite you. We use this data only to run online play: your gamer name is shown to your opponent, players you have played with can invite you to another match, and the server can pair you with a random opponent. If you allow it in Google's consent window, the App reads your Google Play Games community list (followers and people you follow) and asks our server which of those players are currently available; their IDs are not stored in the process. You can withdraw this permission at any time in the Google Play Store: Settings > General > Play Games profile > Gaming community list visibility.
Our server keeps this data in memory only, for the duration of your connection. A sign-in ticket (so Google isn't asked on every connection) is valid for at most 24 hours, and a match invitation sent while your game is closed waits for you for at most 6 hours. Nothing is written to the server's disk, and restarting the server deletes all of this data.
On your device, the App stores a list of recent opponents and favourite players (their player IDs and gamer names) and missed invitations - locally only, so you can invite those players again.
Signing in to Google Play Games and data processed by Google are governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. To provide and personalize ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud, Google and its partners may collect and use data such as:
- Advertising ID and other device identifiers
- IP address and approximate location
- App usage and interaction data
This data collection and processing is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy, available at:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can opt out of personalized advertising, or limit ad tracking, through your device's settings (e.g., Android Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
Permissions Used
The App requests the following device permissions:
- Internet access - required to load and display ads and for online play.
- Vibration - used for haptic feedback during gameplay (can be disabled in the App's settings).
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, phone contacts, location, or storage.
Deleting Your Data
Our game server does not store your data permanently, so there is nothing for us to delete - online play data disappears at the latest when the sign-in ticket expires (24 hours) or when the server restarts. Data stored on your device (settings, recent opponents, favourites, missed invitations) can be deleted by uninstalling the App or clearing its data in Android settings. You can manage your Google Play Games profile and data stored by Google at https://play.google.com/games/profile and in your Google Account settings (https://myaccount.google.com). If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
Sonar Strike is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
