Welcome to my homepage!
I am Somnath Maity, a postdoctoral researcher in the Nonequilibrium Quantum Statistical Mechanics RIKEN Hakubi Research Team, RIKEN Cluster for Pioneering Research led by Dr. Ryusuke Hamazaki at RIKEN, Wako, Japan.
My research area lies in theoretical condensed matter physics, with a focus on studying non-equilibrium dynamics of isolated and open quantum many-body systems. If you are interested in my research work, please visit the publications tab.
Previously, I completed my Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Amit Dutta from the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), India, in the year 2022. I also earned my M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Kanpur in 2016. Before joining IIT Kanpur, I obtained my B.Sc. degree in physics from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, Kolkata, in 2014.
