If you want a compact, plug-and-play solution for blending two 3.5mm audio sources like a phone and a laptop on your desk, choose SOLUPEAK M21; if you need an 8-channel powerhouse with professional 6.35mm inputs and low-noise fidelity for studio recording or band rehearsal, choose QudosXy HA800S.
• SOLUPEAK M21: Its biggest strength is the ultra-simple 2-channel design for quick desktop mixing of consumer electronics, but it is limited to 3.5mm connections and lacks the flexibility for multi-source projects.
• QudosXy HA800S: Its biggest strength is the robust 8-channel architecture with professional 1/4" jacks and independent stereo/mono control, but it requires more setup time and physical space than a simple mixer.
• The SOLUPEAK M21 is best for individuals who just need to hear two devices simultaneously without hassle, while the QudosXy HA800S fits musicians, producers, or content creators managing complex audio feeds.
The SOLUPEAK M21 is designed for one specific job: making it easy to listen to multiple 3.5mm sources at once without the frustration of unplugging cables. This device acts as a mini headphone mixer that combines signals from two different inputs into a single output. You can connect a smartphone to one channel and a laptop to the other, then adjust the volume of each track independently using the two smooth-turning potentiometers on the front panel. It is a powered mixer that runs on a 12 VDC adapter, ensuring consistent performance so you do not have to worry about battery life or signal drops during a session.
This unit is ideal for someone setting up a home desk audio station where they need to monitor music streaming while listening to voice chat or a second computer. The solid aluminum chassis gives it a sturdy feel that looks nice on a small desk, and the compact size means it does not take up much room. Because it uses standard 3.5mm auxiliary sockets, it works seamlessly with headphones, smart phones, tablets, MP3 players, and most consumer computers. There is no complex routing or driver installation required; you simply plug in the DC adapter and connect your audio cables to start mixing immediately.
However, this simplicity comes with clear trade-offs. If you are looking for high-fidelity studio monitoring or need to connect instruments like guitars or keyboards, the M21 will not suffice due to its reliance on the smaller 3.5mm jack. It is strictly a two-channel device, meaning you cannot expand beyond two simultaneous input sources. Furthermore, because it is built for consumer-grade 3.5mm outputs, it may not provide the same dynamic range or low-distortion performance found in units designed for professional line-level equipment. It is a tool for convenience and basic blending, not for serious audio engineering.

The QudosXy HA800S is built for people who demand control over a wider variety of audio sources. With eight independent stereo channels, this mixer supports simultaneous headphone monitoring and multi-source audio mixing, making it perfect for studio recording, band rehearsal, or live performance scenarios. Each channel features a dedicated volume knob and an individual STEREO/MONO switch, allowing you to freely adjust both the level and the audio mode for different headphones, microphones, or instruments. This level of granular control is essential when you are balancing a full band or layering multiple tracks for a podcast.
What sets this unit apart is its use of universal 1/4" TRS input/output compatibility. These standard 6.35mm jacks work with professional headphones, mixers, audio interfaces, guitars, basses, keyboards, and other audio devices that require a larger connector. The internal circuitry utilizes a 4580 low-noise op-amp, which delivers ultra-low distortion and clear, transparent sound. This ensures that even at high volumes, the audio details are preserved, providing the fidelity needed for critical listening and professional monitoring. The metal housing is durable yet palm-sized, fitting easily into a backpack for on-the-go recording or music teaching sessions.
This mixer is also unique in that it offers a battery-powered option, adding significant portability compared to models that strictly require a wall adapter. While it maintains a compact footprint of roughly 7.87 inches wide, it handles a much heavier load of connectivity than the M21. It is suitable for anyone who needs to manage more than two inputs or requires the durability and sound quality associated with professional gear. However, the presence of eight channels means there is a steeper learning curve for beginners who might find the array of knobs and switches overwhelming compared to a simpler two-knob interface.
• Best for airplane travel → SOLUPEAK M21 is lighter and simpler for quick connections between a phone and a tablet, though the QudosXy HA800S is better if you need to manage multiple entertainment devices simultaneously.
• Best for microphone headset for airplane → Neither is a headset itself, but the QudosXy HA800S offers superior low-noise performance (4580 op-amp) for clearer communication if used with a professional mic setup, whereas the M21 is fine for basic earbud mixing.
• Best touch control gaming headset for airplane → Both rely on knob controls rather than touch, but the QudosXy HA800S provides independent stereo/mono switching which is crucial for isolating game audio from chat, a feature the M21 lacks.
• Best value for multi-device users → QudosXy HA800S wins here because eight channels offer significantly more utility than the fixed two channels of the SOLUPEAK M21.
• Best for simple desktop setups → SOLUPEAK M21 is the winner for its "plug and play" nature with 3.5mm cables, requiring zero configuration for basic dual-source listening.
• Best for studio recording → QudosXy HA800S is the only viable choice with its 1/4" inputs, low-noise op-amps, and 8-channel capacity.
• Best for portability → While both are compact, the QudosXy HA800S adds battery power, making it self-sufficient in places without easy access to a 12V DC outlet.
• Best for instrument connection → QudosXy HA800S supports guitars and keyboards via 1/4" jacks; the M21 cannot accept these signals directly.
In my opinion, the QudosXy HA800S is the stronger purchase for almost any serious user because its 8-channel flexibility and professional 1/4" inputs allow it to grow with your needs. The low-noise op-amp technology and battery power make it a versatile tool that can handle everything from a solo bedroom project to a full band rehearsal. However, if your only goal is to blend two 3.5mm devices on a desk without any fuss, the SOLUPEAK M21 serves that niche perfectly. I would buy the QudosXy HA800S if I were preparing for a long trip for airplane use, as its ability to manage multiple audio streams with high fidelity ensures a better experience across various devices.
Yes, the built-in 4580 low-noise op-amp is designed to deliver ultra-low distortion and clear sound even at high volumes, preserving audio details for quiet environments.
No, the SOLUPEAK M21 only accepts 3.5mm Auxiliary inputs, so it cannot connect directly to electric guitars or keyboards that use 1/4" jacks.
No, unlike the SOLUPEAK M21 which requires a 12 VDC adapter, the QudosXy HA800S can be powered by batteries, offering greater mobility.
The QudosXy HA800S is engineered for low-noise performance with its specific op-amp, making it superior for clean audio capture compared to the standard consumer-grade M21.
