I wanted to buy a student edition of solidworks, which I believe includes a voucher
for a certification (I want to take the CSWA). I'm at a well established Montreal University
studying computer science. I have not found any details of my university having SW
license "qualifying", so I don't know.
I want to buy the student edition but I am concerned my school will not qualify,
there doesn't seem to be any way to check other than to try buying it (It seems it
will allow this) and refund if its not? I tried emailing solidworks academic sales
but got an email back telling me they were on vacation.

This is true for me today. Solidworks 2019 export to DWG file is bringing up the educational version stamp in AutoCAD 2019. I am forwarding this as a ticket to Solidworks. I have both AutoCAD and Solidworks in full professional versions.
I tried today with the same combination. DWG export from Solidworks 2019 with the "options" setting to use "Release 2013" version DWG file instead of using the "Release 2018" version DWG file. Opening DWG file in AutoCAD vanilla 2019. No educational stamp warning message this time. At least that is a solution for me since I am working both ends of the process. I had just changed the Solidworks export option to using "Release 2018" version DWG when the problem appeared. For others receiving Solidworks files, you might request that they export to the 2013 version file when exporting DWG files for your use.
