The Sacramento Street Permanent Supportive Housing is a proposed 75-unit multi-family housing project for homeless Vallejo residents to be located at 2134-2136 Sacramento Street. The City is working with developer Eden Housing to ensure the project's success.
The project will feature 7500 square feet of ground floor common space that will include a community room and services suite. It consists of two four story buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge and 35 surface parking spaces.
The units will be broken down in this order:
74 units for permanent supportive housing
51 studio units
18 one bedroom units
5 two bedroom units
One manager's unit
The project will feature many services to assist those staying in the building, including:
On site case manager
Mental health services
Healthy food programs
Health and wellness programs
Money management programs
The project qualifies under CA SB 35, which allows for a streamlined review process if a project offers a certain number of affordable housing units. The project also qualifies for a density bonus due to the affordability of the units.
Eden Housing and Solano County received $6,056,211 in No Place Like Home funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
The City has submitted an Environmental Report (ER) to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and expects approval around 24 August 2020. Approval of the ER will allow for demolition of the existing structures.
The project has been approved by the City on a staff level due to the streamlined process granted from SB 35.
