I-80 Westbound Truck Scales

Description

Solano Transportation Authority (STA) has plans for the destruction of the current I-80 westbound truck scales and the construction of a new replacement facility 0.7 miles east.

The project will create a new braided off-ramp and will have direct access from westbound SR-12.

History

Current Status

STA and Caltrans will jointly submit an application to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for Trade Corridor Enhancement Program (TCEP) funds. The two agencies will ask for $29M to fund the design of the project.

History

The project has already been cleared environmentally through the CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) process, but has yet to undergo full design and NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) review. Once Regional Measure 3 (RM 3) funds are made available, the project can begin to compete for other competitive funds for construction.
