1700 Santa Monica Street is an affordable housing project by affordable housing developer MidPen Housing. The project will have 72 units, with one of those being a Manager's Unit. The Fairfield Housing Authority has granted 36 project-based vouchers (PBVs) to the developer.
The units in this building are intended for low-, very low-, and extremely low-income individuals, families, and chronically homeless and homeless households with mental illness.
The project will be composed of seven two- and three-story buildings, which will be broken up as follows:
There will also be a one-story community building. Amenities will be provided on-site as well for residents, including laundry facilities, a playground, a picnic area, a barbecue area, and quiet sitting areas.
80 vehicle parking spaces and 30 bicycle parking spaces will be provided as part of the project.
This project is scheduled to be discussed by the Planning Commission during their January 8 2020 meeting.
