Welcome to Fluid and Soft Robotics Lab!
At the Fluid and Soft Robotics Lab, we focus on developing adaptive, highly responsive systems by utilizing the unique properties of fluids and soft matter. By studying the physics of interactions between flexible structures and fluids, we design and create systems that are fluid-responsive and fluid-powered, allowing them to be adaptable and responsive to changing environments.
Our work is grounded in fundamental physical and mathematical principles, which we explore through rigorous experimentation and multiscale visualization to capture detailed mechanical behaviors. This physics-based approach guides us in developing precise models and applying advanced mathematical analyses to refine our designs.
Through these insights, we aim to drive innovations that address critical needs in healthcare and manufacturing, advancing the capabilities of fluid-driven and soft robotic technologies.
Designing adaptable systems that respond to fluid forces, enabling smart technologies in robotics and wearables.
Exploring fluid-powered movement in living organisms to inspire innovative designs for adaptable and efficient systems.
Optimizing fluid dynamics and mass transfer in porous media for advanced healthcare and sustainable applications.
Developing precision fluid control systems for applications for advanced manufacturing and bioengineering technologies.
