This Privacy Policy explains how Downzy Downloader (the “App”) handles information. We designed the App to work without accounts and with minimal data processing. Please read this policy carefully.
Not for children under 13. The App is not directed to or intended for children under 13 years of age. Do not use the App if you are under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the App, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
We do not ask you to create an account.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contact list, precise location, photos, or files from your device.
We do not sell your data.
Even though we avoid collecting personal information, some limited processing happens so features can work:
Purchases & entitlement verification (subscriptions / in-app purchase)
Purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your full payment details.
We may receive/store purchase tokens or order identifiers from Google solely to verify your active subscription and/or one-time “No Ads” in-app purchase and related entitlements (e.g., no ads, unlimited downloads, Quick Settings button).
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free tier shows banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads via Google AdMob.
Where required, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain and manage consent.
If you consent, AdMob may use your Advertising ID (AAID) and similar device information to show personalized ads.
If you decline or withdraw consent, we request non-personalized ads.
Subscribers and users who purchased the one-time “No Ads” in-app purchase do not see mandatory ads.
On-device permissions and processing
The App requests certain Android permissions (e.g., Internet; overlay/draw over other apps for the floating button; post notifications for download status; storage access limited to the folder you select for saving media).
Media parsing and selection happen on-device or via our server/API only to fetch and deliver the media file you requested. We do not scan your device or upload your personal media.
Downloaded content is saved locally to your chosen folder. We do not collect or sync your downloaded files.
No analytics / no server logs
We do not use analytics (e.g., no Firebase Analytics) and do not keep server logs.
Our systems are configured to avoid retaining logs; however, network providers or infrastructure partners may process transient technical data (e.g., IP address) automatically to complete requests.
The App offers a free tier.
An optional one-time in-app purchase (“No Ads”) disables ads.
An optional subscription unlocks additional features: no ads, unlimited downloads, and a Quick Settings button.
Payments are processed by Google Play under Google’s terms and privacy policy.
We may store purchase tokens and entitlement status only to manage access to paid features.
We rely on:
Google Play / Google Play Billing — to manage purchases and subscriptions.
Google AdMob — to serve ads (personalized where consented; non-personalized otherwise).
Our backend to coordinate downloads and entitlement checks.
Third-party API provider(s) to fetch media metadata and/or download links for the services you choose to download from.
These providers receive only the minimum information necessary to perform their function (e.g., a content URL you paste, your device’s ad identifier where consented, IP address as part of a normal internet request, and technical request details). We are not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Spotify, or any other third-party platform. Please comply with each platform’s terms and applicable laws when using the App.
We do not sell data.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
For California (CPRA) purposes, serving personalized advertising via AdMob may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 12 for opt-out choices.
Our services and providers may operate in various countries. By using the App, you understand that information may be processed where we or our providers are located, with appropriate safeguards applied.
Subscription/in-app-purchase entitlement data (e.g., purchase tokens) are retained as long as needed to provide access, handle billing inquiries/disputes, and meet legal obligations.
Ads consent status is retained as needed to honor your choices.
We do not retain server logs.
Permissions: You can disable optional permissions in Android settings. Some features may not work without certain permissions (e.g., saving files without storage access, showing the floating button without overlay permissions).
Ads & consent (EEA/UK and where required):
If you withdraw consent, we request non-personalized ads.
No Ads: If you purchased the one-time “No Ads” option, the App does not show mandatory ads.
Subscribers: If you have an active subscription, the App does not show ads.
Manage ad personalization at system level:
You can reset your Advertising ID and adjust ad personalization in Android Settings → Google → Ads (wording may vary by device/OS version).
Subscription management: Manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App and our services. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the App. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App or that we have inadvertently processed information from such a child, contact us so we can promptly delete it and prevent further use.
Where applicable, we rely on:
Consent — for personalized advertising (via UMP).
Performance of a contract — to provide requested functionality, including subscription access.
Legitimate interests — limited to operating the App and ensuring it functions as intended (e.g., entitlement checks, non-personalized ads where allowed, and basic operational processing).
Because we do not collect personal information for profiling outside advertising or for marketing, rights such as access/correction/deletion may have limited applicability; you can always contact us and we will assist where legally required.
We do not sell personal information.
Showing personalized ads via AdMob may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How to opt out of “sharing”:
In-app, open Settings → Privacy options and choose non-personalized ads (or withdraw consent where applicable).
You can also limit ad personalization or reset your Advertising ID in Android Settings as described above.
We do not use cross-context behavioral advertising for subscribers or users who purchased “No Ads” (no ads shown).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and/or on the store listing and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted reasonably in advance where feasible.
