Bridie is interested in our human condition, migrant voices, social justice, valuing our planet, listening to inner voice, loving life, and laughter and nature.
Bridie values humanity, social justice and advocacy close to her heart, which is reflected in her poetic writings and her day-to-day relationships with others. She migrated to the UK from Ireland at aged 21, and her work over the past 40 years has since been steeped in mental health nursing. Bridie uuses the spearhead of language to highlight and challenge issues that impact all. Her spoken word poetry acts as a powerful force when injustice, racism or benign indifference permits wrongs to continuue. She sees the light of good in others of all cultural backgrounds and encourages thhat goodness to shine. She believes, narrations of truths in history can help prevent repetition of the worst of human behaviour.
