XIII

Conference description

The 13th Southern California Flow Physics Symposium (SoCal Fluids XIII) will be held at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

This conference aims to bring together researchers from universities throughout Southern California, working in all areas of fluid dynamics, for a one-day exchange of ideas in an informal and collaborative atmosphere.

To promote education and exposure, talks are invited from graduate students and postdocs, as well as from undergraduates who have been pursuing research. Faculty and other undergraduate students are highly encouraged to attend. All universities in Southern California are welcome to participate.

The conference poster can be found here.

Presentations

Contributed papers are limited to 10 minutes with 2 additional minutes for discussion. This is followed by 1 minute for transition to the next paper and introduction of the next speaker.

During the talk, the monitor will indicate at 8 minutes that the speaker has to finish in 2 minutes. At 10 minutes, it will indicate that the speaker's presentation time is over. At 12 minutes, it will indicate that transition to the next speaker must occur.
