If you want a premium, immersive listening experience with deep bass and total isolation for a kid who needs to focus on homework or gaming, choose SOAR NBA Active Noise; if you need a secure, sweat-proof pair of open-ear buds that keep your ears safe during a run or let you hear traffic while commuting, choose BUGANI Open Ear Headphones.
• SOAR NBA Active Noise: Delivers full over-ear immersion with 40 hours of battery life and active noise cancellation, but the bulky design and heavy plastic construction make it unsuitable for high-intensity sports.
• BUGANI Open Ear Headphones: Offers an incredibly lightweight, non-intrusive fit with Bluetooth 5.4 and 40 hours of total playtime via its case, though the open design means you won't get the same level of sound isolation.
• Who each pick is for: The SOAR headphones are ideal for a kid who wants to block out the world and dive into music or games, while the BUGANI buds are perfect for kids who run, cycle, or need to stay aware of their surroundings while listening.
The SOAR NBA Active Noise Cancelling Over the Ear Headphones are built for the listener who demands presence. These aren't just generic earbuds; they are substantial, over-ear devices designed to wrap around the head and create a seal that actively cancels out ambient noise. If you are looking for the best active noise cancelling ear clip headphones in terms of pure isolation, this isn't it, but if you want true over-the-ear silence, these deliver. The model features a distinct Los Angeles Lakers theme, making them visually striking for fans of the team, which can be a huge selling point for a child who loves sports aesthetics.
The core strength here lies in the audio driver type and the enclosure material. The dynamic drivers combined with the fabric and foam ear pads provide a comfortable, padded experience that keeps the sound warm and rich. With a Bluetooth 5.3 connection, the wireless link is stable enough for streaming video or gaming without significant lag. However, the physical nature of over-ear headphones means they cover the entire ear, which can feel hot during summer months or while engaging in vigorous physical activity. They are not designed to bounce around on a head during a sprint.

This product is specifically targeted toward teens and older children who spend long periods sitting down—whether studying, playing video games, or watching movies. The 40-hour average battery life is a standout feature; once charged, a user can listen for days without needing to plug in the 3.5 mm jack or the USB charging port. This longevity makes it excellent for travel or long car rides where access to power is limited. However, parents should note the age range description lists "Teen," suggesting the build might be slightly large or heavy for very young children. If you are looking for the best bluetooth earbuds for switch or similar handheld consoles, the wired 3.5 mm option provides a backup, but the bulk remains a factor for portable, on-the-go use.
In stark contrast, the BUGANI Open Ear Headphones (model B15) are engineered for movement and safety. These are not designed to seal the ear canal; instead, they rest ergonomically on the outer ear, allowing air to circulate freely. This design philosophy eliminates the pressure buildup common with traditional in-ear buds, making them ideal for marathon gaming sessions, long meetings, or extended wear by adults and kids alike. The open-ear shape ensures that users remain aware of their environment, a critical safety feature for anyone running outside or navigating busy streets.
The technical specifications reveal a device built for modern connectivity and durability. Equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 chipset, these earbuds offer a rock-solid connection up to 15 meters away from the source device. This is a significant upgrade over older standards, ensuring that audio stays perfectly synced for video calls or gaming. The hybrid driver technology, featuring a 15x11 composite diaphragm, delivers Hi-Fi professional sound quality with deep bass despite the open design. Furthermore, the IPX5 waterproof rating means these buds can handle sweat and light rain without issue, making them a robust choice for workouts.
For a parent considering the best kids headphones for running, the BUGANI B15 stands out because of the flexible silicone ear hooks. These hooks ensure the earbuds stay securely in place even during intense movement, preventing them from falling out mid-stride. The charging case is compact, measuring just 3.5 inches in length, which fits easily into a pocket or backpack. While the single charge offers 8 hours of playtime, the case extends the total usage to 40 hours, matching the longevity of the SOAR headphones but in a much smaller package. However, because they are open-ear, they do not block out external noise as effectively as over-ear models, so they are less suitable for environments where absolute quiet is required.
• Best for total isolation → SOAR NBA Active Noise, thanks to the over-ear design and active noise cancellation that blocks out the world.

• Best for Bluetooth stability → BUGANI Open Ear Headphones, utilizing the newer Bluetooth 5.4 standard for faster pairing and lower latency compared to SOAR's 5.3.
• Best for team loyalty → SOAR NBA Active Noise, offering specific team branding like the Los Angeles Lakers that appeals to young sports fans.
• Best value for mobility → BUGANI Open Ear Headphones, providing a lightweight, travel-friendly form factor that fits in small pockets.
I would buy the SOAR NBA Active Noise for a teenager who spends most of their time at a desk, playing games, or studying, especially if they are a fan of the Lakers and need to block out distractions. The immersive sound and massive battery life create a dedicated listening zone that helps with focus. However, if I were shopping for the best bluetooth earbuds for switch or for my child's daily commute and outdoor activities, I would choose the BUGANI Open Ear Headphones. Their ability to keep the ears safe and dry while maintaining a solid connection makes them the superior choice for an active lifestyle. Ultimately, for a kid who needs to move, the BUGANI is the clear winner; for a kid who needs to stop and listen, the SOAR is the better investment.
The BUGANI Open Ear Headphones are specifically designed for running with IPX5 waterproofing and secure ear hooks, whereas the SOAR over-ear model is too bulky and lacks water resistance for intense exercise.
Yes, both the SOAR NBA Active Noise and the BUGANI Open Ear Headphones offer a total of 40 hours of playtime, though BUGANI achieves this through a charging case while SOAR uses a single long-lasting charge.
The SOAR NBA Active Noise provides true active noise cancellation due to its sealed over-ear design, while the BUGANI buds rely on transparency and do not block external sound.
Both support low-latency connections, but the SOAR's over-ear design may offer a more immersive gaming experience, while the BUGANI's Bluetooth 5.4 ensures excellent sync for mobile gaming on the go.
