Hi, I’m Anagh Phanse, a freshman at Eastlake High School. While I enjoy studying Maths and CS, I love spending pass time reading, coding and playing an instrument called Harmonium. I have won first place in our school’s math olympiad tournament and second and third place at the state level of science olympiad in subjects relating to forensics and astronomy. In my very first year of participating in VEX IQ competition, our team won first place at regionals and got fifth place in the states championship. I have been playing Harmonium for nine years and participated in many concerts including two at the Seattle Northwest Folklife Festival and one as part of the IPAP in Seattle. As part of the National Honor Society, I have given over 50 hours of service to the community in the form of volunteering for festivals, concerts, and events. In my activity packed daily routine, I have realized that healthy nutrition is essential to leading a happy life. Recently, I have balanced my diet to control sugar intake and to be aware of fruits, vegetables, nutrients, and all the other healthy ingredients that I have in my meals. This initiative has led me to research what exactly is the label on the side of boxes or on the back of wrappers that so many people neglect, and what significance it holds to leading a pleasant and productive day.
