SNP2024 - Nonlinear Theories in Mechanics

58th Meeting of the Society for Natural Philosophy

Aarhus, Denmark, 10-12 June 2024

About the Meeting

The Society for Natural Philosophy, established in 1963 by the late Clifford Truesdell, is dedicated to promoting the study of physics—derived from the Greek term "physis" for nature—through the language of mathematics. It advocates for the unity of mathematical and physical sciences and fosters recognition of exceptional work through regular member-organised meetings. The 58th Meeting of the Society, dedicated to "Nonlinear Theories in Mechanics," will be hosted by the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Aarhus University from 10 to 12 June, 2024, in Aarhus, Denmark. This theme aims to delve into the intricate realm of nonlinear mechanics phenomena, encompassing topics such as material and geometric nonlinearities, high-order continua, and the interplay between geometry and mechanics.
