19 matches have been played in the snooker knockout handicap competition since it started in November ’24 and a further 7 matches in the plate competition.

Congratulations to Don Greig who won this year's snooker tournament final against Brian Rae.

Both are previous winners of the trophy, which will be presented at the AGM on 14th March.

In the snooker plate competition Chris Litherland beat Terry Broome (last year's snooker champion) to become the first winner of the snooker plate competition.

18th February 2023

Congratulations to Geoff Beard who won the final of the billiards tournament against Alan Blackburn.

Both are many-time winners of this trophy, which will be presented to Geoff at the club's AGM on 14th March.

In the billiards plate competition Terry Richardson beat Arthur Fryer to become the competition's first winner.

28th November 2022

Because of popular demand we have decided to hold a plate competiton for billiards and snooker this year for the first time.

The intent is that everyone will get to play at least 2 matches (instead of 1). Those who lose their first match will automatically be entered in the plate competition, which will run in parallel to the main competitions.

The plate draw is on the notice board in the clubroom next to the draw for the main competitions.

Unfortunately, there is no prize for winning the plate competition...

In a series more thrilling than Euro 2020 and also played a year late the Snooker Handicap 2020 was decided in the third frame when Brian Rae narrowly beat Geoff Beard to take the trophy. Congratulations to both players.

Like the Tokyo Olympics 2020 the Billiards Handicap 2020 final took place in 2021 with no spectators. A close match saw David Clayton edge Terry Richardson for the title. Congratulations to both players – both for reaching the finals and still being able to play well after a year off!
