Generalised geometry for
General Relativity
This work is my Bachelor Thesis, which mainly dealt with Generalized Geometry and its application to gravity (and to string theory). Essentially, exploring the novel richness brought by the mathematics of generalized geometry, we were able to (almost) derive a Target-Space approach to Bosonic String Theory using the same procedure as a standard Palatini-Action variation. In simpler terms, we were able to derive the low-energy effective action for a Bosonic string without making any reference to the string itself, only by manipulating an Einstein-Hilbert-esque action.
Below, you can find both my full thesis, as well as a short 10-minute presentation which I presented at a seminar in my university.
