This summer research project was an amazing experience! It was very pedagogical, and my mentors were full of wisdom (and motivation). I had plenty of fun while doing the problem sets they gave us, and even more with the final report and presentations they had us do (you can find both below). I would have liked to expand even more in my report, but my time was cut a bit too short due to the coding/debugging of the numerical aspect. Nonetheless, I think this is a very rich area of study and I would love to come back to it!
