About this app
SnipDroid (SnipShape) lets you cut out an area of the screen you choose (rectangle, freeform or shapes) and save, copy and share it as an image. You can also stick snips onto photos and decorate them with a pen and text.
Use of AccessibilityService
The app uses Android AccessibilityService only to:
- show the floating "Snip" and "Paste" buttons over other apps;
- capture the screen area you select after you tap "Snip";
- find the focused input field and paste your image after you tap "Paste".
Screen images and input-field information are processed on your device only when you take these actions. They are never sent to the developer or any server, and are not used for advertising, analytics or sale.
Photos
When you choose a background photo to decorate, the app uses the Android photo picker and reads only the photo you select, on your device. Photos are never uploaded.
Storage and clipboard
Images you create are saved in the "Pictures/SnipDroid" folder on your device and copied to the clipboard. An image leaves your device only when you share or send it through another app.
Information we do not collect
The app does not collect personal information such as your name, login details, contacts, location or payment information. No account is required.
Deletion
You can delete saved images at any time with "Delete all saved snips" on the app's main screen, or with your photo or file app. Images already saved on your device remain after you uninstall the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page.
