Privacy Policy for Netmanager

NetManager is built by network engineers for making jobs simpler and easier for network engineers. We respect your privacy and design our app to work entirely offline where possible. No user data leaves your device unless you explicitly connect to external network equipment via SSH/Telnet.

1. Information We Collect

NetManager operates locally on your Android device. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)

• Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID)

• Location data (GPS coordinates)

• Usage analytics or crash reports

• App interaction logs

What we do process locally:

• Network diagnostic data (IP addresses, hostnames, ping/traceroute results, Wi-Fi SSIDs)

• SSH/Telnet connection details you enter manually (IP, port, credentials)

• Wi-Fi scan results (BSSID, signal strength, channel info)

This data stays on your device and is only used for network diagnostics.

2. Permissions Explained

NetManager requests only the permissions Android requires for network tools:

Internet SSH/Telnet, ping, traceroute, network monitoring, speed tests Sends diagnostic packets to network devices you specify.
No data sent to our servers.

Location (Wi-Fi only) Wi-Fi analyzer (SSID/channel scanning) Android 10+ requires this to read nearby Wi-Fi networks. We do not access GPS or track your location.

Nearby Wi-Fi Devices Wi-Fi device scanner Identifies devices broadcasting on your network (vendor
(Android 13+) lookup only). No tracking.

Ethernet (Link Test) LAN connectivity testing via USB-C/USB adapter Checks IP assignment and speed on wired connections.
Local only.

No background location, microphone, camera, contacts, or storage permissions. 

3. SSH/Telnet Connections

When you use SSH (port 22) or Telnet (port 23):

• Connection details (IP, port, username) are saved locally in app history for your convenience

• Credentials are stored encrypted using Android's Keystore

• All traffic goes directly between your device and the network equipment

• We cannot access your commands, credentials, or session output

4. No Data Transmission to Third Parties

• Zero analytics or telemetry - No Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar services

• No advertising - No ad networks or trackers

• No cloud sync - All monitoring lists, connection history, and results stay on device

• No account system - No login required

5. Data Storage and Deletion

All app data is stored locally in your device's app storage:

- Connection history (IP/port/hostname)

- Network monitor lists (imported IPs/hostnames)

- Wi-Fi scan history (temporary cache)

You control this data:

• Clear connection history anytime from Settings

• Delete monitoring lists individually

• Uninstalling the app removes all data completely

6. Security

• Credentials encrypted with Android Keystore (biometric/PIN protected)

• Network data processed in memory only (no persistent logs)

• No network requests except those you initiate

• Regular security updates via Google Play

7. Children

NetManager is a professional network diagnostic tool for IT/SOC/NOC engineers. It is not intended for children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy for new features or Android requirements. Changes will appear in the Play Store and app changelog. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
