Sneaky Pikers' Garage

Bodging since 2020

Our Story

Welcome to our site! We are The Sneaky Pikers, originally three University students that met in 2019 during our Initial Engineering year.

We all agreed that combustion engines are just plain fun! One of us had an empty garage just down the road from our University, so naturally, we made it our second home.

Enrolling in an Initial year meant we were bombarded with loads of theoretical Maths and Physics, and with the Pandemic brewing around the corner, there was little to no chance that we would get any practical work done at all. Therefore we pondered amongst ourselves, while at our local Spoons one night, scheming on what we should build to feed our lust for power and SPEEEED! (not intending to quote any particular British car presenter/host). Then, it occurred to one of us that we'd built a couple of motorised bikes a few years prior and that it would be a great opportunity to get our hands dirty and building some neat creations.

With that in mind, we hit eBay to start sourcing bikes and motor kits. Since then we've managed to gather more knowledge and peers to create a community of Student Engineers building wild and wacky creations in a one car garage with no power, heat or lighting.

Some of our Projects

Jacques

@Jezza - "My 1968 Mobylette AV59; an eBay project. At first I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew... but is now my daily here in the UK!"

@The Garage - "A quadbike converted McLaren P1 kids ride-on toy. Sporting a 50cc two stroke engine and the body of a P1, this creation was a match made in heaven".

@Jezza- "The newest addition to the garage built by Built off a Schwinn Stingray Chopper with a 100cc YD100 Engine and racing Dellorto Clone carburettor (for now), it is the fastest and most powerful Pike Bike built so far; reaching almost 60km/h!"

@Jezza - "The first of the four motorised bicycles built so far.  With an unbranded stock 49cc motor, Dellorto clone carburettor and skinny road tires, it reached speeds of up to 40km/h. Yes, reached, as in past tense... Gerald has been dismantled, however a new project is underway!"
