Southern Nevada District
The Southern Nevada District is located in fabulous Las Vegas Nevada. It encompasses over 3.2 million acres of BLM administered land and an additional 1 million acres that we assist with fire suppression.
In addition to the AD hand crew, the district has multiple different program areas including the Mesquite SEAT base, Las Vegas Helitack, Vegas Valley Veterans type 2IA hand crew, and the District Engine program.
With the district located in the heart of the Mojave Desert as well as the greater Las Vegas Metropolitan area, there are plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities including world class rock climbing, hunting and fishing, and all the amenities that come with living in a major city.

AD Program
The administratively determined, or AD, hand crew is a federal type 2IA wildland fire hand crew located in Las Vegas, NV, and is maintained by the Southern Nevada District BLM. The crew partners with other federal, state, and local agencies to maintain the overhead positions, while the crewmembers are filled with AD personnel. The AD positions are "on-call" meaning they are not full time or seasonal positions. For more information see the "About the Crew" page.
