Note: Defensive Driving Certificates are valid for 3 years from the last date it was taken. If your certificate is still valid through the entire 2024 Fire Season, do not take the course. DOI has limited licenses for this course and you will not be paid if you take the course unnecessarily. Every year, ADs are required to submit a copy of their Defensive Driving Certificate and complete a Motor Vehicle Authorization Form to operate a government vehicle. Defensive Driving Course is not required if you do not have a valid driver's license. Please do not take the training if you do not have a valid Driver's License, because you will not be paid.
Motor Vehicle Authorization Form is required every year. Defensive Driving certificate must be valid for the entire fire season. This form will be turned in when you drop off your hiring documents.
Work Capacity Test (WCT)

Acuity International Physical Information
Acuity is the Medical Standards Platform use to initiate and schedule Physicals for Wildland Firefighters
Medical Standards Requirements:
Requires a follow up physical by a physician every three years after baseline physical
Requires employee to fill out an annual electronic Health Screen Questionnaire (self-certification). If health conditions have changed then the employee must see a physician prior to completing the work capacity test.
A periodic exam is required if your last physical was completed in 2021. Fire Business will initiate periodic physicals for returning ADs. Monitor your Junk/SPAM Folders for emails from Acuity. ADs will receive a text and email from Acuity to complete the physical registration process.

CPR Training Request
You can only sign up for CPR/First Aid Training if it is required for your position. Fire Business will reach out to you individually through email to provide link for online portion and dates on hands on training.

EMT Refresher Training
The Las Vegas OMSP Refresher: Tuesday March 12th - Friday March 15th
Open to all BLM employees and interagency partners.
Tuesday through Thursday class will run from 08:00 to 17:00 and will be required for everyone.
Location: Red Rock Fire Station- 2925 Moenkopi Rd, Las Vegas 89135
Friday's class will be for the following:
Fire Personnel and LEOs that have been identified & selected for the IV Access add-on module and will run from 08:00 to 12:00.
LEOs that have been selected for Needle Decompression, TXA, & D10; this will occur from 13:00 to 17:00.
