It is the AD Handcrew Candidate's responsibility to monitor the AD website on a regular basis. The purpose of the Critical Due Dates/Announcement page is to ensure AD Handcrew Candidate's receive all important information. If an AD Handcrew Candidate misses a deadline, they will be disqualified for the 2025 fire season.
There will be no exceptions.

Wildland Firefighter (All Crew Types), GW-0456-03/04/05
5/5/2025: Complete all action items that were listed on your Rookie School Handout. You must have all your requirements completed to be selected to go on assignment. Monitor the AD website for Announcements and Critical Due Dates.
A friendly reminder to start setting your availability on the AD Website EVERY Sunday starting May 19th. Please keep in mind most assignments are 14-18 days long (this includes travel days) and you must be available that entire assignment period. Also provide dates that you will be unavailable.
Fire Business will provide the availability spreadsheet to the Duty Officer Monday each week.
Do not be late you’re your availability submission. You will not be added to the availability list for the following week if you are late with your Sunday Availability Submission.
The Duty Officer will roster the on-call AD Handcrew. The roster is determined by needs of the SND AD Handcrew and the discretion of the Duty Officer. AD Handcrew members will be notified when they are rostered for an assignment. Not all AD Handcrew members will be rostered for an assignment even they have submitted “available status”.
Do not email Fire Business asking when an assignment is available. Assignments are determined by fire activity and crew boss availability.
AD Handcrew members will have approximately 2-4 hours to report, so it is recommended that you have your gear and personal bag ready at all times.
