SnapLedger ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you"). This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
SnapLedger provides offline expense tracking, budgeting, and AI camera receipt scanning. To deliver these features, the app requests access to the following permissions:
• Camera & Photo Library: Used exclusively to capture and attach receipt images for Text Recognition (OCR) and expense logging. Images are processed and stored locally on your device without your explicit action to share.
• Biometric Permission (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used exclusively for on-device app lock security (PIN and Fingerprint unlock). We never access or store your biometric data.
• Internet Access (INTERNET): Used to fetch real-time multi-currency exchange rates, perform Google Drive cloud sync (when initiated by you), and serve Google AdMob advertisements.
2. Data Storage & On-Device Processing
SnapLedger is designed with an offline-first privacy approach:
• Your transactions, budgets, categories, and debts are stored locally on your device using an encrypted local SQLite database.
• We do not collect, sell, or rent your personal financial data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services & Advertising
The app integrates third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device:
• Google AdMob: Serves banner and interstitial advertisements on the free tier. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data according to Google's Privacy Policy. Pro users enjoy a 100% ad-free experience.
• Google Play Billing: Used for processing subscriptions and in-app purchases securely. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• Google Drive API: Used exclusively for optional user-initiated encrypted cloud backups directly to your own Google Drive account.
4. Children's Privacy
SnapLedger does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
5. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, including local on-device database encryption and biometric access controls.
