Effective date: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SnapClean ("SnapClean", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our mobile application. SnapClean is designed to help you organize, preview, clean up, and compress photos and videos on your device.
SnapClean processes your photos and videos locally on your device. We do not upload your photos or videos to our own servers for scanning, organizing, cleaning, or compression.
Depending on your device and the permissions you grant, SnapClean may access:
Photos and videos stored on your device, including the specific items you select or your full media library if you grant full access.
Basic media metadata, such as file size, media type, dimensions, date added, file name, and storage path or album information.
Temporary files created during photo or video compression.
This access is used to identify similar photos, low-quality photos, screenshots, large videos, and items that may be compressed or deleted to free up storage space.
SnapClean may request the following Android permissions:
Photos and videos access: used to scan, preview, organize, compress, and clean media on your device.
Selected photos access: on supported Android versions, you may choose to give SnapClean access only to selected photos and videos.
Internet access: used to open online pages such as this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and to support third-party services used by the app such as analytics and crash reporting.
You can change or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.
We use locally available media information to:
Show storage usage and cleanup suggestions.
Detect similar photos and low-quality photos.
List screenshots and large videos.
Preview media before you decide whether to keep, delete, or compress it.
Compress photos and videos when you choose to do so.
Remember local choices, such as items you keep or dismiss, where supported by the app.
SnapClean's media analysis is performed on your device. The app may generate local analysis data, thumbnails, temporary compressed files, and cache records to improve performance and avoid repeating the same scan work. These files remain on your device and are used only for app functionality.
SnapClean does not delete your original photos or videos automatically. Deletion only happens after you choose items to delete and confirm the action. On supported Android versions, the system may show an additional confirmation dialog before media is deleted.
When you compress media, SnapClean may create a temporary output file and then save the compressed result to your device. If a compressed video would not save space, the app may discard the temporary file and keep the original unchanged.
In the current version of SnapClean:
We do not require you to create an account.
We do not collect your name, phone number, or mailing address through the app.
We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers for analysis.
We do not sell your personal information.
SnapClean uses third-party services such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand app usage, measure feature performance, and diagnose crashes or stability issues.
These services may process information such as:
App interaction events, such as screen views, scan activity, cleanup actions, and related counters or size ranges.
Device and app information, such as app version, operating system version, device model, language, and general configuration information.
Crash diagnostics, performance data, and technical logs used to identify and fix bugs.
We design our analytics events to avoid sending photo or video content itself. Media scanning and cleanup analysis remain on your device.
SnapClean is distributed through Google Play, and Google may process information according to Google's own privacy policies when you download, update, review, or otherwise interact with the app through Google Play.
SnapClean may also use third-party service providers that support analytics, crash reporting, hosting, content delivery, or other core app operations. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Google Play: app distribution, updates, and store interactions.
Firebase Analytics: product analytics and usage measurement.
Firebase Crashlytics: crash diagnostics and app stability monitoring.
Media files, analysis cache, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. You can remove local app data by clearing SnapClean's storage or uninstalling the app. Photos and videos saved in your device media library remain under your control and are not removed by uninstalling SnapClean.
Analytics and crash data handled by third-party service providers may be retained according to those providers' retention settings and policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited technical, analytics, or diagnostic data with service providers that help us operate, maintain, and improve SnapClean. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
SnapClean is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
SnapClean may be available in multiple countries and regions. Privacy rights and requirements may vary depending on where you live. We aim to handle information in a way that is transparent and limited to what is necessary for the app's functionality.
You can control media access through Android permission settings. You can also stop using SnapClean, uninstall the app, or clear the app's local storage at any time. If you prefer not to share analytics or crash-related data, you may choose not to use versions of the app that include those services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or through the app store listing where appropriate.
