# SnapBite Privacy Policy

SnapBite ("the App") helps you understand what you eat by analyzing photos of your meals. This policy explains what data the App handles and where it goes. Host this page at a public URL and enter that URL in App Store Connect.
## What data the App processes
**Meal photos.** When you analyze a meal, your photo is sent securely to OpenAI (the provider of the AI analysis service) to estimate its nutritional content. Photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection and are used only to produce the analysis. OpenAI's handling of API data is described in their API data usage policy at openai.com/policies. Photos you save with a meal are stored only on your device.
**Nutrition and food log data.** Your meals, calories, macros, water intake, goals, and profile details (gender, age, height, weight) are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers and cannot see this data.
**Apple Health.** If you enable Health sync in Settings, the App writes calories, macros, and water intake to Apple Health. The App never reads data from Apple Health. You can revoke access anytime in the Health app under Sharing.
**Barcode lookups.** When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (a public food database) to retrieve nutrition information. No personal data is included.
**Purchases.** Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
**Notifications.** Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No push servers are involved.
## What we do NOT do
We do not sell your data, show ads, use third-party analytics or tracking, or create accounts. We have no database of users.
## Data retention and deletion
All personal data lives on your device. Deleting the App deletes your data. Health entries you've synced can be removed in the Apple Health app.
## Children
SnapBite is not directed at children under 13 and provides no age-gated features.
