We publish the Smoke Android app on Google Play under the package name world.wildtrails.smoke.
WHAT SMOKE IS
Smoke is a local Android app. It runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, and no syncing - unless this policy explicitly says otherwise below.
WHAT DATA SMOKE STORES ON YOUR DEVICE
Everything Smoke records stays in the app's private storage on your phone. Nothing is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
- Smoking logs - for each day, the date, the number of cigarettes scheduled, smoked, and skipped, and your daily-challenge progress.
- Cigarette events - the scheduled time of each cigarette and whether you skipped or smoked it.
- Badges and health milestones - which you have earned and when.
- Settings - your chosen path (controlled reduction or cold turkey), start and quit dates, starting cigarettes per day, cigarette price and currency, notification window, and notification toggles.
- Premium status - a single on-device flag recording whether you have unlocked Smoke Premium.
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information.
- Your location, contacts, photos, or other personal device data.
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting signals.
- Usage analytics, behavioural events, or telemetry.
- Crash reports.
Smoke makes no network requests of its own. The only exception is the optional one-time Smoke Premium purchase, which is handled entirely by Google Play Billing (see THIRD-PARTY SERVICES).
PERMISSIONS SMOKE REQUESTS AND WHY
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS - to deliver your scheduled cigarette reminders, daily challenge, end-of-day summary, and badge and health unlock notifications.
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM - to fire those notifications at their precise scheduled times.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - to restore your notification schedule after the device restarts.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no Firebase, and no remote configuration.
The one third-party service is Google Play Billing, used only if you choose to buy Smoke Premium (a one-time purchase). Google processes the payment; Smoke never sees or stores your payment details. After a successful purchase, Smoke records only a single on-device flag marking Premium as unlocked. Google's handling of the transaction is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
CHILDREN
Smoke is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed as a children's app. It is not part of Google Play's Designed for Families program. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
DATA RETENTION, DELETION, AND YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR
All Smoke data lives on your device. We have no servers, so we cannot access, copy, restore, or delete your data on your behalf.
- To inspect your data: open the app.
- To delete all Smoke data: Android Settings - Apps - Smoke - Storage - Clear data. Or uninstall the app.
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. Because Smoke holds no data outside your device, these rights are exercised through the app itself and through your device's settings. SECURITY
Smoke's data is held inside the app's private sandbox, protected by Android's standard at-rest mechanisms.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We update the Effective date at the top of this page when the policy changes. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
